GUEVARRA, EDWARD C.

1. For this I choose the theories, Global Village by

Marshall McLuhan. These 3 theories might seem to approach
globalization in different approaches but they all have
similarities. One is all three theories consider the impact of
globalization on culture and cultural practices. Glocalization
emphasizes the interplay between global and local cultural
influences, highlighting how global products and ideas are
adapted to fit local contexts. McDonaldization examines the
standardization and rationalization of society, influenced by
the fast-food chain McDonald's. he concept of the Global
Village suggests that the interconnectedness facilitated by
electronic media and communication technologies leads to
the sharing and blending of cultural ideas and practices on a
global scale. Two is they all recognize or shows the
dominance of western culture in globalization. 3 and the last
one is all of them acknowledge the role and importance of
communication technologies in globalization. In a way they
also shows localization of products but this is only my own
opinion.
