Confirm the doctors order for ECG.

Gather the materials needed. To save time.

Identify the patient.
4.
Do handwashing.
5.
Done gloves.
6.
Explain the procedure to the patient. Ask patient for medications or caffeine
taken hours prior the procedure, or if the patient does physical activity
before arriving. If so, let the patient rest for 20 minutes.
7. Position the patient. (Sitting, semi or high fowler, supine)
8. Remove all metals and jewelry that could alter the waves of the patient.
9. Provide privacy.
10. Plug and turn-on the ECG machine.
11. Input the name & other information in the machine.
12. Attach the lead & electrodes on their proper locations.
13. Print the result and endorse it to doctor or nurse.
14. Jot down any significant findings.
15. Do after care. Remove the lead & electrodes.
16. Check the patient.
17. Remove gloves and repeat handwashing.
