students in real-world problem-solving scenarios.
d. Technology Integration: I utilize various educational technologies, such as multimedia
presentations, virtual simulations, and online resources, to enhance the learning experience.
Rationale and Success in Supporting Student Learning
Socratic questioning encourages students to actively participate in the learning process,
fostering higher-order thinking skills and a deeper comprehension of the subject matter.
While access to educational technology tools has remarkably improved in most schools, there
is still concern about instructional integration of computer technology to support student
learning. (Onchwari, 2008)
Problem-Based Learning challenges students to think critically, analyze multiple
perspectives, and generate innovative solutions. By tackling authentic problems, students are
motivated to apply their knowledge to real-life contexts, which enhances their problem-
solving and decision-making abilities.
Incorporation of Other Dimensions of the Framework
a. Relevant Core Knowledge: In my teaching, I ensure the integration of relevant core
knowledge, aligning it with the curriculum and learning objectives.
b. Relevant Professional Values: Throughout my teaching practice, I embody and instill
relevant professional values such as respect, empathy, and fairness.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my teaching and support strategies incorporate a range of activities and
techniques that promote active learning, collaboration, critical thinking, and the application of
knowledge. By incorporating relevant core knowledge and professional values, I create a
supportive and inclusive learning environment. Through these efforts, I strive to foster a deep
3
and meaningful understanding of the subject matter and empower students to become lifelong
learners.

CASE STUDY 03: ASSESSING AND GIVING FEEDBACK TO LEARNERS

Introduction
As an educator, I employ a variety of formative and summative assessments, both formal and
informal, to effectively evaluate my learners' progress. These assessments provide valuable
insights into their understanding of the subject matter and guide my instructional decisions.
Types of Assessments
I utilize a range of assessments, including written tests, quizzes, presentations, projects, and
classroom observations. Formative assessments, such as quizzes and observations, are
conducted during the learning process. Formative assessment refers to tools that identify
misconceptions, struggles, and learning gaps along the way and assess how to close those
gaps. (Yale , 2021) Summative assessments, like written tests and projects, are administered
at the end of a unit or course.
The decision to use specific assessment approaches and methods was based on careful
consideration of various factors. Firstly, I analyzed the learning objectives and the nature of
the subject matter. Secondly, I considered the diverse learning styles and preferences of my
students.
To ensure my assessments are valid indicators of learning, I align them closely with the
desired learning outcomes and objectives. I clearly define the criteria for success and
establish rubrics or marking schemes that align with the standards expected. To maintain
reliability, I follow standardized marking procedures and engage in moderation and peer
evaluation processes.
Feedback plays a crucial role in supporting learners' understanding and development. I strive
to provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback that highlights both strengths and areas
for improvement.
Incorporating Other Dimensions of the Framework
a. Core Knowledge: I incorporate relevant core knowledge into my assessments to ensure
learners acquire a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
b. Professional Values: I uphold professional values such as fairness, integrity, and respect
