tower has been completed.
‘TREE: Begin stitching the tree 13 pleats right of the dogs back foot. Stitch the trunk and leaves of the tree adding the
branches as you stiten,

Four strands of floss are used unless oth-
erwise specified. The tower and bushes
require 60 pleats, the lite girl with the bal-
loons requires 31 pleats, the French poo-
dle requires 22 pleats and the tree re-
quires 34 pleats to stitch. Spacing be-
tween characters is given on the graph to
help with easy placement
BACK SMOCK: (2 strands) Using the
same color floss as your fabric, back
smock rows 2, 3, 4, 6, 6, 7 and 8,
UPPER BORDER: Begin with a down
cable on row 4 and continue to cable all
the Way across your insert. Just below row 1 you will then
stitch a row of 1 step baby waves all the way across your
insert. (Using the recommended 158 pleats your border will
balance exactly.)
LOWER BORDER: Begin on row 9 with an up cable and
continue to cable all the way across your insert.
LITTLE GIRL: Begin stitching the litte girl 4 pleats left of the
center valley at the toe of her shoe. Stitch all the way up the
Git, adding the bread, jacket, and hat as you smock. Begin
stitching the yellow balloon on row 2 %, 4 pleats right of the
center valley. Stitch the entire yellow balloon and then stitch
the red balloon where shown on your graph. The girl's eyes
and the buttons on her hat and coat, are made using 4
strands of floss and are French knots wrapped 2 times. The
mouth is a small straight stitch made using 2 strands of floss
‘and is couched in the middle to give ita slight curve. The
string on the balloons are made using 2 strands of floss and
ate straight stitches placed where indicated on your graph.
The loop at the base of the balloon is a small lazy daisy
stitch also made using 2 strands of floss
FRENCH POODLE: Begin stitching the poodle 14 pleats
right of the right shoe. Stitch all the way up the poodle. Add
the collar using 4 strands of red floss where shown on your
graph. The dog tag and the dog's eye are French knots,
made using 4 strands of floss and are wrapped 2 times. The
tail is a straight stitch made using 4 strands of floss.
