Summary:

The book Child Labour, by Gary Wiener is a piece of literature in a series titled

newspapers, government documents, non-fiction books, and position papers.

Before diving into a brief summary it is important to define child labour.

Not all work done by children is child labour. Some forms of work, such as helping at

home, assisting in a family business, or earning pocket money, are considered

positive as long as they don't harm the child's health, personal development, or

education. Child labour refers to work that is dangerous, harmful, and interferes with

schooling, depriving children of their childhood, potential, and dignity. Extreme cases

involve enslavement, separation from families, exposure to hazards, and being left to

fend for themselves homeless. Determining if work is child labour depends on factors

like age, type of work, hours, conditions, and even country-specific objectives.
