Crankshaft Pulley Identification July 2012

This Technical Information Bulletin applies to 4016 and 4016-61 TRG engines.

Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is
known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem
A number of front crankshaft pulleys are now being installed depending on the desired fan speed for the
particular cooling package of the customer. To ensure that the right parts are identified and that the correct
taper lock bushes or stub shafts are installed, the correct parts should be ordered.

Solution
A six groove taperlock pulley that has a pitch diameter of 200 mm (7.87 inch) and an outside diameter of 207
mm (8.14 inch) (Perkins part number 16SE92/28) must be used with taper lock bush
(Perkins part number 644/7).
A five groove taperlock pulley that has a pitch diameter of 300 mm (11.81 inch)
(Perkins part number 16SE92C/28) must be used with taper lock bush (Perkins part number 644/10) and
stubshaft (Perkins part number 580/223).
A five groove taperlock pulley that has a pitch diameter of 300 mm (11.81 inch)
(Perkins part number 16SE92E/28) must be used with taper lock bush (Perkins part number 644/21) and
stubshaft (Perkins part number 580/240).
Note: For the five groove taperlock pulley (Perkins part number 16SE92E/28), taper lock bush (Perkins part
number 644/21) and stubshaft (Perkins part number 580/240) arrangement, the pulley location spigot on the
new stubshaft has been moved back 12 mm (0.47 inch) to the arrangement that uses the pulley (Perkins part
number 16SE92C/28). This will keep the fan belt grooves in the same position.
