Till We All Come

ACTIVATING THE POWER OF SYNERGY IN THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

Introduction
Ephesians 4:1-16
1I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,1
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the

Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord,
one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he

ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.2 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he
also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all
heavens, that he might fill all things.)3
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the

perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the
faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:4 5
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of

men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all
things, which is the head, even Christ:6
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the
20XX
effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Meaning of Synergy
the working together of two things to produce an effect greater than the sum of their
individual effects. Examples: Muscles, The Body Systems

Entomology [Origin of The Word]

From Ancient Greek συνεργία (sunergia, “joint work, assistance, help”), from
συνεργός (sunergos, “working together”), from σύν (sun, “together”) + ἔργον
(ergon, “work”).

The People, The City & Tower of Babel

 Genesis 11:1-9
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.1 2
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt

there.3 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone,
and slime had they for morter.4 5 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto
heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the LORD said,

Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be
restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language,
that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face
of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there
confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the
earth.6

The Unity of The Brethren

 Psalms 133:1-6
 1ASong of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to
dwell together in unity!1 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down
upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the
dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the
LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

 Proverbs 30:24-28 (KJV)
24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding
wise:10 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the
summer; 26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the
rocks; 27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;11 28
The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

What Solomon Said About Unity And Synergy

 Eccl.4:9-12
 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for
their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but
woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another
to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat:
but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against
him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly
broken.

Activating The Power of Synergy
In Christian Community
The Scriptures gives us the blueprint for achieving unity amongst believers in Christ :
Acts 2:41-47
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added
unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of

bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were
done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And
sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And
they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house,
did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,3 47 Praising God, and having favour
with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Aiders/Promoters/Builders of Synergy

 Things That Builds, Promotes or Aids Synergy

20XX
Aiders (Promoters) of Synergy
Love Malleable (Malleability)
Joy Ductile (Ductility)
Peace Tensile (Tensility)
Longsuffering Flexible (Flexibility)
Gentleness Cohesive
Goodness Compacted
Faith Integrating
Meekness
Temperance

20XX
Galatians 5:22-24
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified
the flesh with the affections and lusts.3
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory,

provoking one another, envying one another.

20XX
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (KJV)
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a
tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though
I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it

profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,1 5 Doth not behave

itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in
the truth;2 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease;

whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.3 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that
which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.4 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I
understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.5 6 12 For now we see
through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.7
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

20XX
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging
cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can
move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to
hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not

self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the
truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where

there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes,
what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When
I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we
shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Enemies of Synergy

 The Works of The Flesh According To Gal.5:19-21 and Ephesians 4:17-29. Lets identify them
from the above passage of Scriptures.
 The Natural Man is instinctively selfish, protective, possessive, territorial, full of self and
rebellious
 The Natural Man is untrained, unrefined and uncultured. He is driven by Primordial
instincts such as Barbarism.

 Anger
 Wrath
 Malice
 Envy
 Jealousy

20XX
Ephesians 4:17-24
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the
vanity of their mind,
He calls them from the impurity of the Gentiles
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is

in them, because of the blindness of their heart:7 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over
unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so
be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off
concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And
be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
to put on the new man
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.8

to cast off lying

20XX
Ephesians 4:25-29
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one
of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place
to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing
which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.9
and corrupt communication
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of

edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.10 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby
ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil
speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

20XX
Galatians 5:13-21
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by
love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of
another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.2 17 For the flesh
lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so
that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
He reckons up the works of the flesh
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,

lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told
you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

20XX
Identifying And Dealing With
‘‘Enemies of The State’’
The Epistles clearly reveals how to spot dissenters and other enemies of unity and synergy
Rom. 16:17
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have
learned; and avoid them.
2 Thess.3:6-15
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every

brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 7 For yourselves know how ye ought
to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; 8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but
wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: 9 Not because we have
not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 10 For even when we were with you, this we
commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some which walk
among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by
our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well
doing.4 14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he
may be ashamed.5 15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 20XX

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of
counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick
understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove
after the hearing of his ears:1 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for
the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his

girdle of his reins. 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow
and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the
