Rep. Bob Good said that same sex marrage was part of a plague affecting socoiety during his
speech. He said, “Nearly everything that plagues our society can be attributed to a failure to follow
God’s law and his rules for and definition of marriage and family.” People on social media reacted
by calling Good a bigot.

I think what Good said was out of line and wrong. Unfortunately nothing will happen because of this
statement. According to Indipendent.co, “His entire primary campaign was a homophobic crusade to
unseat Denver Riggleman for officiating a gay wedding.”

I chose this article because I was interested in bigotry and homophobia in our government. I was also
interested in what other people thought about what Good has said in the past.
