Question 1 (CLO2_PLO3)

One day, crude oil and natural gas will be depleted or no longer commercially. At this condition, the
offshore platform is no longer useful anymore. Then to minimize its environmental impact as well to
avoid complicated navigation of marine vessel the offshore platform must be removed from the site.

I. Demonstrate the decommissioning of offshore oil and gas asset in Malaysia dimension.

II. Assess the opportunities and challenges in decommissioning activities (6 marks)

Question 2 (CLO1_PLO1)

Demonstrate the formation of oil and gas, starting form Jurassic Period, until the exploration by
Petronas. (10 marks)

Question 3(CLO3_PLO2)

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is implemented once the secondary recovery is no longer effective.
Discuss the tertiary recovery techniques involved in enhancing the secondary recovery. (10 marks)
