SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION: NEVER STAND THE UNIT UPSIDE DOWN ON THE PLATFORM


SUPPORT, OR PICK UP SCALE USING PLATFORM SUPPORT AS A HANDLE.
SEVERE DAMAGE MAY RESULT TO THE WEIGHING MECHANISM.

A. Carefully unpack the scale and lay the scale on its back
or side.

B. Follow instructions shown on the battery cover to install Stainless Steel


batteries. Use four "D" size batteries. Platform

press it gently into place. Install the thumbscrew.

* Pressing the LB/KG switch while weighing may cause the displayed weight to be accidentally tared. To avoid this occurance:
a. Switch to the desired weighing mode prior to a weighment or
b. If during a weighment, press and hold the N/G key, then press the TARE key to switch between weighing modes.

POWER ON/OFF

A. Turning the scale on:


1. Remove any load from the scale platform.
2. Press the ON/ZERO key. The display will briefly show all digital segments (figure eights)
together with all other status indications. The scale will then automatically reset to zero.

B. Turning the scale off:


1. Press the OFF key. The display will go off.

WEIGHING PROCEDURES

A. GROSS Weighing:
1. With no load on the scale, the display on zero, and the CENTER ZERO and STABLE
indications illuminated, place item(s) to be weighed on the scale. Weight displayed will be
"GROSS" weight.

B. NET Weighing (with Semi-Automatic Tare):


1. With no load on the scale, the display on zero, and the CENTER ZERO and STABLE
indications illuminated, place an empty container on the scale and press the TARE key. The
weight of the empty container will be automatically deducted and the display will read zero.
2. Place the item(s) to be weighed in the container. The NET WEIGHT indication will illuminate
and the displayed weight will be the "NET" weight.
3. To display the "GROSS" weight, press the NET/GROSS key. The GROSS WEIGHT
indication will illuminate and the displayed weight will be the "GROSS" weight. Press the
NET/GROSS key again to return the display to the NET weight.
4. To return to "GROSS" weighing mode, remove all load from the scale and press the TARE
key.

C. Batching:
1. With no load on the scale, the display on zero, and the CENTER ZERO and STABLE
indications illuminated, place an empty container on the scale and press the TARE key. The
weight of the empty container will be automatically deducted and the display will read zero.
2. Place the first item in the container until desired weight is reached.
3. Press the TARE key. The display will return to zero and the TARE indication will illuminate.
4. Place the second item in the container until the desired weight is reached.
5. Press the TARE key again. The display will return to zero and the TARE indication will
illuminate.
6. To display the "GROSS" weight, press the NET/GROSS key. The GROSS WEIGHT
indication will illuminate and the displayed weight will be the "GROSS" weight. Press the
NET/GROSS key again to return the display to the NET weight.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 as many times as necessary. When weighing of all items is
completed, remove all load and press the TARE key. The display will return to zero and the
CENTER ZERO and STABLE indications will illuminate.

MINOR TROUBLE SHOOTING

A. Is the movement of the scale platform restricted in any way?


1. Insure that no foreign object(s) have become wedged between the scale housing and the
platform mounting bracket.
2. Verify the platform is not rubbing against any surrounding objects.

B. Are the batteries in good condition? Try changing all four batteries.

C. Is the scale off? If the scale has not been used in the last 60 minutes, perhaps the auto
off feature has turned the unit off.

If any of these things fail to correct the problem, the scale needs to be serviced by a qualified scale
technician.

CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE SCALE OR TAMPER WITH ITS


MECHANISM OR CIRCUITRY AS THIS WILL VOID ALL WARRANTY COVERAGE.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

A. Use only a soft, damp cloth to clean the scale. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
Do not submerge the scale in water. Always be sure the scale is turned off before cleaning.

B. AVOID SHOCK LOADING. Place items to be weighed on the platform. Do not drop them
on. Repeated or severe shock loads may damage the weighing mechanism.

C. Depress function keys with your finger only. Never use a sharp object that may puncture the
key.

D. Keep the scale in an area free from extreme temperature changes, moisture, or dust.
Prolonged exposure to extremely high or low temperatures may cause damage to your
scale.

E. To avoid battery leakage, remove the batteries when the scale will not be in use for an
extended period of time.

F. Make sure that all employees are aware that your scale is a precision machine and should
be treated accordingly.

G. Keep this manual for further reference.
