The Ten Commandments Craft

Directions:
1. Give each child a paper bag, a printout of the Ten Commandments, a pair of scissors and some glue.
2. Instruct children to cut up one side of their bag and across the top so that their bag opens up and lays flat.
Have them round the edges of each side to look like the two stone tablets that Moses received from God.
3. Once they’ve done this, have them crumple their new creation into a ball and then spread it back out. This
will give the paper the look of stone.
4. After they’ve flattened their sack out, they can cut out the Ten Commandments from the printout (provided
below) and glue them in order on the two stones tablets.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make for yourself an idol (an

image in the form of anything in heaven
above or on the earth beneath or in the
waters below).

3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord

your God.

4. Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not give false testimony against

your neighbor. (You shall not lie.)

10.You shall not covet.
