• HOW DO WE KNOW GOD’S SHIELD OF FAVOR?

1. WE REACH OUR DESTINATION

EZRA 7:9 On the first day of the first month he began his journey from
Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem,
according to the good hand of his God upon him.
PSALM 41:11
By this I know that You are well pleased with me,
Because my enemy does not triumph over me.

2. RIGHT PEOPLE
EZRA 8:18
Then, by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of
understanding, of the sons of Mahli the son of Levi,
the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, with his sons and brothers, eighteen
men;
1 CORINTHIANS 11:18-19

3. ANSWERED PRAYERS
EZRA 8:22-23
22 For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and
horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had
spoken to the king, saying,
“The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His
power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.” 23 So we
fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.
JAMES 5:16
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that
you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man
avails much.
PSALM 40:1-2
1 I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

4. AUTHORITY TO OPEN DOORS

NEHEMIAH 2:7-8
7 Furthermore I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, let letters be given
to me for the governors of the region beyond the River, that they must
permit me to pass
through till I come to Judah, 8 and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the
king’s forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates
of the citadel which pertains to the temple, for the
city wall, and for the house that I will occupy.” And the king granted them
to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.

5. MOTIVATED AND MOVE OTHERS

NEHEMIAH 2:18
And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me,
and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me.
So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this
good work.
