where English is used as the Medium of Instruction (EMI)
(School practicum I and II in the second semester, academic year 2022 - 2023)

1. Time
- The first period (5 weeks) is due to commence from January 09 to February 24, 2023.
(from 16/01 to 27/01/2023 is Vietnam's Lunar New Year holiday)
- The second period (5 weeks) is from March 06 to April 07, 2023.

Practice using EMI and Educational Practice.

SCHOOL PRACTICUM I - 5 WEEKS

a) Teaching practice
- Requirements: A student teacher needs to teach 03 lessons, at least one of which is
delivered entirely in English. In the other lessons, the student teachers can partially use
English in teaching. For example: the instruction is in Vietnamese, but the students do the
worksheets in English; students study discipline-related vocabulary in English; students do
the consolidation exercises in English.
Besides, the student teachers are encouraged to:

The student teachers need to develop weekly plans for teaching practice and carry out
such plans in consideration to adaptation to realistic school situations.

experienced mentor. If the mentor is a foreigner, there is an additional Vietnamese instructor.
A mentor supervises a maximum of 05 students.

example, school assemblies, collective labour activities, competitions between classes, ...

▪ actively participate in teacher community’s  and the student teachers group’s
activities.
The student teachers need to develop weekly plans for educational practice and carry
out such plans in consideration to adaptation to unpreditable offline/online teaching situations.
- Educational practice supervision: Each student teacher is supervised and evaluated
by an experienced homeroom teacher. Each homeroom teacher supervises a maximum of
three student teachers.
SCHOOL PRACTICUM II – 05 WEEKS
