Reaction journal: The logic of literature

This reading talks about how literature is hard to define. The author starts by saying that
literature can be considered a logical system, independent but related to the logic of language,
since language is also a logical system as it is the medium whereby literature is conceived.
Nonetheless, according to the author, this logic of literature has not been deeply studied by
the literary theories available. Only theory comes to the conclusion that literature is a kind of
art, but it is still not well defined.
Many authors tried to define literature before and how it was divided, however those are
merely subjective opinions of how literature can be organized and classified according to the
perspective of the scholar.
Finally, it is concluded that if there exists a logic of literature it has to exist a phenomenology
of literature which consists of the analysis of the phenomena.
