Planning begins with the uncertainties about the question at hand.

In planning we must do it page by page, it means everyone must work by identifying areas on planning
strategically, with goals, measures and an action plan to achieve one plan. These areas are applicable to all school
and student’s performance, human resources and partnerships and equity. It is very important to have fueled
engagement and collaboration as it is a central to strategic planning in education to make planning more effective
and support plans.

In making strategic plans one we must get everyone on the same page. Getting everyone involved to
agree on one strategic planning model. Be a collaborative leader. Collaboration is critical both for ideation and
developing an actionable plan. As a leader we must commit and put plan in place to ensure we can achieve the
goals. Also, we must engage the community early and often. Understanding community’s preferences is invaluable.
School that engages early in the planning process have much greater chance of building a successful and
community supported plan.

As a leader we must always remember that we don’t have to figure out the next normal and steps to do
on our own. This is what I often hear from my aunt MT III and cousin a TIC. The mentioned plans above are what
they always follow. With the topic discussed in this class, I now clearly understand why my educator relatives are
thinking that way. Truly being a leader is not easy but if a leader has a deep understanding of what he/she is
responsible to, things might not be that perfect as planned but with at easy turning a vision into reality.

Strategic planning is really embedded in my head, being a president in different organization form 1 st year
till I graduated in my university, and with the experiences I have volunteering in different schools I can say Strategic
planning in education is very vital. As for example I will share my previous experience from volunteering, Last
February 2022, I became part of a school where it is clear visually what the teacher are saying is true. According to
them the previous principal of their school is an autocratic one. A leader they describe as the law, because all she
says is what must be done, they don’t have the chance to express and share their ideas on different matters. With
this type of leadership their school was not able to progress in every aspect. When my cousin takes charge of the
head of that school her first program is a team building, according to her before she can take on planning for the
school, she must first have to build connection with her constituents. Knowing who you’ll be working with is one
way of identifying what must be done. And so, after getting to know and building relationship with her workmates
the next thing is identifying their needs and of the school. In making plans on the first ever meeting she conducted
we plan on how to improve the school appearance and performance. On the followed up meeting the community,
stakeholders are called to be part of it. By allowing and making the community involve in planning for the school
we are able to get their perspectives and involvement. After planning is done since the school only have a very
little MOOE, and the budget needed exceeds to the capability of the school we turn on seeking assistance from
different private businesses and individuals who might help make our vision a reality. For the record the school
only have 3 make shift classrooms. And with no less than two months a great improvement is visual in the school, a
very impressive feedback is being heard from the community and most specially from the district supervisor and as
of this moment the leadership of my cousin is acknowledge by the Department of Education here in Zamboanga.
The school also won in the small-scale category brigade skwela, joined the regional Pag Basa, and with the big
change in the school appearance and performance we are being compensated with the assistance coming all the
way from D.O. Now the school has two story building being build and recently Dip.Ed. gave 3 flat screen 52’’ smart
TV, 3 Laptops and 7 tablets to be used in teaching. With the mentioned changes in school the performance of the
teachers also improves.

The topic that was been discussed and my experience in my last volunteer job truly make sense. Planning
is the major task each leader must have a deep understanding. As a leader in education the task in planning and
decision making is not all ours. We must all remember as a teacher and future leader in education, planning is at its
best when it is inclusive and collaborative. This is what I understand and practice.
