World War II was a complex and multifaceted conflict that involved numerous battles,

campaigns, and diplomatic maneuvers across different theaters of war. What we did in this
power point is an overview of the major events that took place during that time:

1939

1. On Sep 1st Germany invaded Poland, marking the beginning of World War II. This
act prompted Britain and France to declare war on Germany. Britain and France
issued ultimatums to Germany but received no response.
2. The Soviet Union invades Poland from the east, in accordance with the nonagression
pact that had been signed by them and Germany. This was done before the
Germans invaded Poland to secure Germany from a two front war and having to split
its militar forces to defend two bordes.
3. The German forces launched an overwhelming assault thoughtout Europe employing
coordinated air and ground attacks that aimed to incapacitate the European defenses
and achieve a rapid victory. This was called the lighting war or as Germans called it the
Blitzkrieg

1940

1. On June 14 Germany forces enter Paris, and France surrenders shortly afterward
leaving Britain to face Germany alone.
2. Thoughtout September 1940 and May 1941, Germany bombeb the British Island,
specially London.
