He was a composer of choral, orchestral, and chamber music, and a member of the facblty of the Music Conservatory in Bucharest. He published several books and journal articles ‘on Romanian folksongs, choral arranging, music theory, and composition. The Compo: CChindla (pronounced keen-DEE-uh) is perhaps Pagcann’s most famous composition, Its based on an instrumental Romanian folk dance by the same name. Chindia, besides being the name of a folk dance, refers both to the time of day just before the sun sets art to the place in the sky where the sun goes down.
