Subject: SST DeviceNet (DN4) Board Set-up for DX200 DCR# 9338

FOR INTERNAL MOTOMAN USE ONLY

1.0 SCOPE and PURPOSE

This document defines the standard procedure for the installation of DN4 DeviceNet board for the
DX200.
 163600-1 card / 168181-1 kit is for the single channel card
 163600-2 card / 168182-1 kit is for the dual channel card

This procedure outlines how to configure the 163600-1 card as Channel 1 in a Slave
configuration. Configuration of the dual channel card can be accomplished in a similar method.

The default settings below should only be used if the end-user has not specified the card
configuration.

5.7 At the IO Module Screen press ENTER once. Verify that DN4-PCU-1 is registered as Station
#16 with appropriate IO Count
Ex: Bit Count = (8 status bits + (8 bits * 30 bytes) for Slave I/O = 248 bits)

NOTE: The single channel card is shown above. If the dual channel card
was used DN4-PCU-2 would be shown for Board name.
NOTE: In the case of the dual channel card the IO total will be Channel 1
and Channel 2 combined, with a status byte for each channel.
NOTE: If the card was installed in Slot 2, it would be displayed as ST#17

5.8 Press ENTER to receive the Modify prompt. Select Yes.

6.0
6.1 When the card is setup for the master mode as described above, EDS
files are not required for each slave device. However, if the board is setup for the
slave mode and a PLC is the master, high level network setup software will
probably be used (RSNetworx), which will require an EDS file for each slave device.
The EDS file can be generated in Maintenance Mode. Reference the manual for more
details. (Manual section 4.4.1 Generation Procedure of EDS File)

7.0 TEST AND DEBUG NOTES

Without the card connected to a network, complete validation of the card is not possible.
