March is considered as Women’s Role in History Month as presidential proclamation

No. 227 series of 1988 to give importance to the contribution of women in society and extend

appreciation to this social movement. Giving equal opportunity to both men and women gives

empowerment to the female citizen of the Philippines and in other countries.

The purpose of the study is to examine the factors that contributed to the success,

challenges, and aspirations of Asian American women in their paths, and I can relate to this,

Our students are struggling to get the course they want because they are under the GAS

curriculum during their senior high school days, and colleges are starting to have a strict

implementation of their specializations. GAS students have a low chance in Accountancy

because the strand is GAS and only the elective are ABM subjects. But for me it is a justifiable

reason, colleges have their reputation to take good care of. But having the idea of putting a

general strand but will have having hard times in college admission is something to correct.

The Filipinos came into U.S before any minorities and it gives connotation to the

Filipinos that is the only Asian ethnic group to serve in the U.S military without U.S citizenship.

This relationship in between U.S and Filipino women gives more significance in society

compared to other Asian counter partners. In the school set up sometimes this kind of behavior

also exists. For example during enrolment students with parents who know someone from the

faculty staff will be accommodated instantly in some schools. I think it is a nature of a person to

prioritize people with who they share experiences and build relationships compared with totally

anonymous people. It is a culture of the Philippines. “Blood is thicker than water” is a norm in

Filipino Culture.

It was explained that social constructionism does not define race through biology or

genetics but as a “product of social thoughts and relations”, constructivism approach believes

that society helps to nurture individuals not by their gender but by the society they belong.

Having this strong point and supports for the research made by supplying related theories and

studies made it possible for the researcher to conduct her studies.

The method used was snowball sampling where potential participants were identified

and encourage referrals until such sample size desired met. For me, it will give the easy

gathering of participants since the referral or recommendation method will be used, given that

these referred potential participants will undergo an evaluation that will meet the qualification of

your studies. It is the responsibility of the researcher to evaluate the potential participants to

avoid biases since the sampling technique is used.

I am in favor in gender equality. Giving equal opportunities between men and women,

but society tends to over understand this social movement. Equal opportunity but different

responsibility. For me, it is not the gender that qualifies people to become superior to others, it

is the experience from others, practices that we emulate that we think will make us a better

person and the attitude that we adapt from dealing with people with more experienced and

knowledge.
