PASSIVE VOICE (Thể bị động)

ACTIVE: The hunter killed the lion.
PASSIVE: The lion was killed by the hunter.

FORM (hình thức)

Active Passive
1. Vo/s/es Am/is/are + V3/ed
Ex: Mai cleans the floor The floor is cleaned by Mai
2. Am/is/are + V-ing Am/is/are + being V3/ed
Ex: He is asking me a lot of questions. I am being asked a lot of questions
3. V2/ed Was/were + V3/ed
Ex: My mother wrote that letter That letter was written by my
mother.
4. Was/were + V-ing Was/were + being V3/ed
Ex: She was doing her homework at Her homework was being done at
that time. that time.
5. Have/had/had V3/ed Has/have/had been V3/ed
Ex:My mother has made that cake. That cake has been made by my
mother.
6. Will/would/can/could/may/ Will/would/can/could/may/
Might/should/must/have to/ought Might/should/must/have to/ought
to/used to….+ V0 to/used to + be V3/ed
7. Am/is/are going to + V0 Am/is/are going to be V3/ed
Ex: Lan is going to learn english English is going to be learned by Lan
*Passive đặc biệt
Active: S1 + V1 + (that) + clause (S2 + V2 + O2…)
Passive: It + be + V3/ed + (that) + clause….
S2 + be + V3/ed + to_inf (cùng thì)
+ to have + V3/ed (khác thì)
Ex: 1. He says that he is a doctor.
→ It is said that he is a doctor
→ He is said to be a doctor
2. People believe that 13 is an unlucky number.
→ It is believed that 13 is an unlucky number.
→ 13 is believed to be an unlucky number.
