ABSTRACT
INTRODUTION: An experimental study conducted by the investigator on
‘A study to assess the effectiveness computer-assisted teaching on knowledge
regarding management of conduct disorders among mothers of school aged
children in selected area, Guntur.

Objective of the study:

 To assess the pretest and posttest level of knowledge regarding
management of conduct disorders among mothers of school aged children
in experimental and control group.
 To assess the effectiveness of computer assisted teaching on level of
knowledge regarding management of conduct disorders among mothers
of school aged children in experimental group.
 To find out the association between the posttest knowledge regarding
management of conduct disorders with their selected socio-demographic
variables among mothers of school aged children in experimental and
control group.

METHODS:

Two group pre-test and post-test design, quasi experimental study design.
The samples for the study consist of 60 degree selected by probability
convenient sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was used to assess
the knowledge and attitude. The data obtained was analysed and interpreted
with the help of descriptive and inferential statistics and the level of significance
was set at the level of 0.05 level
Results: The present level of knowledge was in pre- test control group was
8.800
and standard deviation was 2.605, the experimental mean was 8.466, and
standard deviation was3.181. The post -test control group mean was 6.433, and
standard deviation was 1.546, the experimental mean was 19.36and standard
deviation was3.337.

In experimental group in pretest no one is having adequate and moderate

knowledge regarding management of conduct .Where as in post-test in
experimental group mothers were exhibited adequate knowledge were
5(16.7%)and 23(73.3%) were in moderate knowledge and 3(10%)were in
inadequate knowledge
In control group in pretest 5( 16.7%) were in inadequate knowledge and
10(33.3%) moderate knowledge and adequate knowledge was 15(50%) Where
as in post-test 28(93.3%) students were in inadequate knowledge and 2(6.6%)
were in moderately knowledge. The study results shows that the computer
assisted teaching was effective 3.3% gaining knowledge regarding management
of conduct disorder among mothers as there was a significant difference
between the post-test stress scores of (t=14.633,p=0.000,p<0.05) experimental
and control group respectively. There is significant association between the post
test level of knowledge and regarding management of conduct disorder with
selected demographic variables such as age of mother ,age of children, mother
education, mother occupation, family type, religion, type of delivery.

Conclusion:

This study shows the improvement in mothers knowledge regarding

management of conduct disorder after the educational intervention.
