Introduction

I have been asked by PFC media to upgrade and explain the benefits and implications of
installing the software.

The benefits and implication of installing Windows 10 over Windows 7/8 for PFC Media

 Benefits

-There are newer security features to stop information and data being stolen this is
good for media creation as it will stop any unfinished work or plans going out into the
public eye.

-Most of the add-on pieces of media are compatible with windows 7/8 but will work
smoother and more efficiently on windows 10 this will help the media creation process
run smoother as the application will be compatible the windows type.

 Implications

-When installing a new form of windows, you may lose important applications and
sometimes lose sensitive data whilst transferring to the new windows type so you will
have to do a back-up on your data when switching this will be an issue to a media
creator as there will work and data lost if there is no backup.

-sometimes there maybe a new layout and new features so you will have to get used to
the new windows this may be rare for a media creator but if this were to happen then
work and other things will not be on time therefore slowing the company down.

The benefits and implications of installing MS Office 365 over OpenOffice 3.3 for PFC
Media

 Benefits

-You know what you will be getting if you have MS office and for an admin this will be
very good as they will know how to do things that they didn’t do before.

-It is very safe and easy to use Microsoft office 365 this will stop the risk of an admin
losing or accidently giving away data on the business.

-Work from anywhere if it has an internet connection the admin will always do work with
an internet connection so they will always be able to access their work.

 Implications

-Cost is a big factor as you must pay for MS office and don’t have to pay for open office
the admin and business will be paying subscriptions to be able to use Microsoft office
so may lose money.

-Some areas of MS office may not be compatible with some forms of windows if
windows are under 8 the admin may not be able to use MS office so work cannot be
completed

-need an internet connection if the internet connection is not strong enough on the
admins computer then they will not be able to get onto there work.

Review how installing and maintaining software in one technology system could
improve productivity for an individual or organization.

There is types of software that can be used in the workplace and schools, to update
employees on work and when it should be done and be messaged feedback by their
boss or other employees so that the business is doing there work correctly and on time.

There is some software like teams or skype where you can hold meetings online and
this will help the company by being able to hold more meetings and easier on current
issues in the business.
