Travelling to Banda Aceh

If you are on leave or a long holiday it’s a good idea to visit Aceh. Because Aceh has lots of places that
you can visit. I will give suggestions about some suitable places for you to visit. Tourist attractions that
I suggest later will definitely make you happy.

This time I will discuss the Aceh part of the capital city, Banda Aceh. Banda Aceh has a well-known and
large mosque, namely the Baiturrahman Great Mosque. Not only that, there are also other famous
mosques such as the Oman mosque. If you are a Muslim you can of course worship here while walking
around and sightseeing.

Visiting aceh you will indeed be met with many historical places and Islamic values such as the mosque
earlier. Talking about history I would recommend a place that you can visit with your family. That
historic place is the Aceh tsunami museum. This museum is located not far from the Baiturrahman
Grand Mosque. You can even see this museum if you stand on the high enough Baiturrahman mosque
tower.

The Aceh Tsunami museum will spoil your eyes with some meaningful and touching wall ornaments.
As the name suggests, this museum was created to commemorate the tsunami that hit Aceh in 2004.
We can really feel the pain of this tragic event when visiting this museum. Because this museum even
has a small cinema that shows documentaries about the Aceh Tsunami.

Besides the Aceh Tsunami museum you can also visit the Rumoeh Aceh. This house is said to have
been designed by a Dutch architect. This Aceh house was designed exactly like the traditional Aceh
house of its time. This house has a religious philosophy in it.

In Rumoeh Aceh there is a philosophy about the pillars of Islam and the pillars of faith. The pillars of
Islam and the pillars of faith are things that are believed by the Acehnese as adherents of Islam.
Acehnese are indeed the largest number of followers of Islam in Indonesia. So it’s no wonder you will
be met with people who dress modestly according to Islamic law every day in Aceh.

Inside this Aceh house there are several parts that are used as kitchens, rooms and living rooms. There
are also several traditional weapons in it, namely rencong. You should know that rencong is Aceh’s
traditional weapon. You can of course give rencong to your relatives as souvenirs after visiting Aceh.

I think it’s enough with historical tours. Now let’s move on to nature tourism in Banda Aceh. In Banda
Aceh we will meet a lot of beaches. And you should know that most of the sea in aceh has moderate
waves so it’s safe to swim.

There are so many beaches that I can’t mention them one by one. The closest and most famous is
probably Lhoknga beach. Because Lhoknga beach was a silent witness to the tsunami at that time.
Lhoknga beach is perfect for you to visit with your family and friends.

So how? Are you interested in visiting? If so, make a choice of places you will visit and make sure you
stay physically and mentally healthy to be able to enjoy the beauty of Aceh’s charms with satisfaction.
