Comfort:
The shapes of the foams and range of seat adjustments enable any type of occupant to find a
comfortable position while flying as well as in resting.
The armrests tilt over 22,6° by means of a lever (the last position adjustment is kept in the case
of lifting up or storing of the armrest).
Reclining of the seat back: from -7° ±1° to -27° ±1,5°.
A. Lower part
The lower part is made of 3 parts:
 A composite material base connecting the seat to the aircraft floor.
 A column composed of 2 filament winding composite material tubes.
 A mechanism composed of 1 reduction gear actuator.
B. Seat bottom
The seat bottom structure is made of a light alloy panel and two light alloy longitudinal slides.
The longitudinal displacement is given by a needle bearing and a reduction gear actuator
located in the lower part.
The transversal guiding is effected by a bearing and a reduction gear actuator located in the
lower part.
The locking of the seat bottom in the horizontal or vertical direction is given by the reduction
gear actuator.
Mechanical controls (located on the side of the seat bottom) may be used to override the
electrical control in case of an electrical component failure.
For the seat P/N TAAI2-13 SERIES, a sliding door located at the front of the seat gives the
passage of the control column.
C. Seat back rest
The seat back rest structure is made of two light alloy machined beams on which are attached
the different components (upper plate of seat back rest, reels, life jacket in board armrest and
lumbar rest hinge).
D. Armrest
The main structure is made of light alloy and is covered by two shrouds. The assembly is
hinged on a pin located on seat back rest part.
E. Assist armrest (for the seat P/N TAAI2-33 SERIES).
The assist armrest assembly consists of:
 An aluminum alloy carrier arm adjustable in relation to a horizontal plane from 0° to
18°upward.
 A light alloy plate upholstered with integral skin foam, hinged at the end of the carrier arm
and adjustable from 0° to 30° downward in relation to the carrier arm axis.
 An aluminum alloy junction fitting given to the seat bottom structure.
The armrest can be stored rearward and a gas cylinder keeps the armrest in its storage
position.

F. Actuators
(1) The seat can be equipped by two types of actuator:
 AVIAC actuator (V F0396)
Or
 LABINAL actuator (V F0358)
(2) AVIAC and LABINAL actuators have the same external characteristics. Internal design
is different.
 AVIAC actuator is equipped with 1 AC motor. When a displacement is selected, power
is applied to motor and an electromagnetic system selects the gear mechanism.
Electromagnetic brake releases the gear mechanism in order to move the seat.

 LABINAL actuator is equipped 2 AC motors. When a displacement is selected, power

is applied to the selected motor and an electromagnetic brake releases the gear
mechanism in order to move the seat.
(3) Each actuator is equipped with an over torque system to prevent damage.
 AVIAC actuator is equipped with mechanical over torque system on H and V
movements. This system cuts off the power to the motor using two micro switches.

 LABINAL actuator is equipped with an electronic over current sensor on H and V

movements. This system cuts off the power to the motor using peak current detection.

2. Operation
A. Seat bottom
(1) Horizontal displacement

NOTE : Only the first operated switch selects the movement. It is not possible to move at
the same time the seat in horizontal and vertical displacement
(a) Powered control
Press the control switch (see figure 4), the motor is supplied until the front or the
rear limits are reached.
The electrical displacement rearward is done until the storage position is reached.
The action on the control switch must be done in the direction of the desired
displacement.
When you release the switch, the electromagnetic brake in the actuator, stops the
seat bottom immediately. On the seat equipped with AVIAC actuator, you may
hear the motor for a few seconds.
In case of overloading conditions or end travel for horizontal displacement, the
actuators have the same reactions.
AVIAC actuator stops immediately after the over torque detection.
LABINAL actuator stops immediately after the over current detection.
If you press the switch in the same direction, power is applied to the motor and
immediately cuts off. You may hear the motor for a few seconds.

NOTE : A load generated by the occupant and applied in the opposite direction of
the displacement of the seat can be a cause for an over torque detection
(b) Mechanical control
The electrical displacement may be overridden manually by actuating the handle
marked H (see figure 4).
Pull upward the handle H and apply a pressure on the seat bottom in the direction
of the desired position.
(2) Vertical displacement

NOTE : Only the first operated switch selects the movement. it is not possible to move
at the same time the seat in vertical and horizontal displacement
(a) Powered control
Press the control switch (see figure 4), the motor is supplied until the up or down
limits are reached.
The action on the control switch must be done in the direction of the desired
displacement.

When the switch is released, the electromagnetic brake in the actuator stops the
seat bottom immediately. On seat equipped with AVIAC actuator, you hear the

(b) Mechanical control
The electrical displacement may be overridden manually by actuating the handle
marked V (see figure 4).
With the seat bottom in up position, pull upward the V handle, the seat bottom
should automatically rise.
Pull upward the V handle and apply a downward pressure on the seat bottom.
B. Seat back
The seat backrest is adjustable within the limits of (-7° ±1° - 27° ±1,5°) with the R handle
(see figure 4).
Pull upward the R handle and apply a rearward pressure on the seat back in order to recline
it. The seat back rest is locked in the desired position by releasing the handle.
Pull upward the R handle, the seat backrest automatically comes back to forward position.

E. Armrest
Push the adjusting button (installed at the end of the armrest), and raise the armrest in the
desired position. Release the adjusting button in order to lock the armrest in the desired
position.
The armrest may be stored behind the seat backrest. Lift the armrest to the up position
and turn it in order to put it in the storage position.
F. Assist armrest (For the seat P/N TAAI2-33 SERIES)
Turn the knurled knob (see figure 6) installed at the end of the assist armrest in order to tilt
the assist armrest in the desired position.
Turn the knurled knob (see figure 6) installed on the side of the assist armrest in order to
incline the top armrest in the desired position.
