The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal.

These roughly 300 islands are


known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. Coral reefs
supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkeling sites.
Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off limits to
visitors.

The Cellular Jail, also known as Kālā Pānī, was a British colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar
Islands. The prison was used by the colonial government of India for the purpose of exiling criminals and
political prisoners.

Ross Island, officially known as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island, is an island of the Andaman Islands.
It belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The island is
situated 3 km east from central Port Blair.

Samudrika Naval Marine Museum is a museum situated near the Andaman Teal House at Port Blair
in India, designed to create awareness on various aspects of the oceanic environment. The museum
is run by the Indian Navy.

The Guitar Island Beach is one of the rarest visited island beaches among the Andaman and
Nicobar group of Islands. The uniqueness of this island is due to its shape of a guitar which is
evident to see from aerial view by taking a seaplane ride from Andaman. It was a protected
rainforest and coral bearing area in the Long Island group.

The Climate of Andaman & Nicobar Islands is described as Tropical climate.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands has a humid Weather and has no winter season. Rain season lasts
for 180 days in a year. The southwest monsoon touches the Indian soil first in the Andamans and
then proceeds towards the Indian mainland.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands is always warm, with pleasant sea-breeze . The rainy season happens
twice a year under the influence of Southwest monsoon in mid-May to September, and Northeast
monsoon in November To January. There is medium to heavy rain during the monsoon, in the
months from May to mid September and November to mid December.

The best time to visit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is between mid November
and April.
