NTP (Network Time Protocol) Server

Port: 123 UDP

It allows computers to synchronize time over networks for an accurate time.

1) # yum install chrony -y

2) Goto https://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/in

server 0.in.pool.ntp.org
server 1.in.pool.ntp.org
server 2.in.pool.ntp.org
server 3.in.pool.ntp.org

3) Configuration file:

# vim /etc/chrony.conf
server 0.in.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 1.in.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 2.in.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 3.in.pool.ntp.org iburst

[iburst: To check instant update]

allow 192.168.1.0/24

:wq

# systemctl restart chronyd


# systemctl enable chronyd

7) Check the sources & clients

# chronyc sources
# chronyc clients

Configure NTP clients to access your NTP Server:

# vim /etc/chrony.conf

Comment existing NTP POOLS, and add


server 192.168.206.151 prefer
:wq

# systemctl retsrat chronyd
