Steriotypes of Brazil
Steriotypes of Brazil
Hi! We are Iris Ferraz, Juliana Fasciotti, Lucas Dias, Luiza Mandarino and Pietra Bevitori,
and this is our video about stereotypes of Brazil.
Stereotype is when you believe unfairly that all people or all things with a particularly
characteristic are the same. Most of the time the stereotypes are wrong and can make
the people that are being stereotyped feel annoyed, or even sad.
It happens a lot about Brazil. Many people from other countries think things about our
country that are completely not true. People think wrong about our language, capital,
culture, and plenty of other stuff.
2- LANGUAGE:
Plenty of people guess that because we are surrounded of countries that speak
Spanish, we speak it too. And when said that we don’t, their second guess is
English or Brazilian, which isn’t even an existing language.
3- SPORTS:
Brazil is known for being very good at soccer, but we are not just it. The
Brazilians are amazing at other sports like, basketball, swimming, tennis, and
specially volley.
4- STATES:
When asked what Brazilian states are, people are probably answering Rio de
Janeiro or São Paulo, and if not, it is all forest. This is so wrong, because we
have another 24 states, with different beautiful things to be seen and almost no
one knows.
5- CULTURE:
Brazil is made of a lot of states and, consequently, many cultures. For example,
our music. Most people believe that we only have samba or funk, however we
have plenty of different music stiles and a lot of musicians that are very famous
for it, like Rita Lee and Elis Regina.
And it was it. Thank you for watching our video, we hope you enjoyed it!
