bake verb
to cook inside a cooker, without using added liquid or fat:

to cook food slowly in a covered dish in a little fat and liquid:

brown verb
to make food brown by cooking it:
Lightly brown the onion before adding the tomatoes.
Allow the meat to brown before adding the vegetables.

to produce bubbles:
We could hear the porridge bubbling away (= bubbling strongly) in the pot.

cook verb
When you cook food, you prepare it to be eaten by heating it in a particular way, such as
baking or boiling, and when food cooks, it is heated until it is ready to eat:
I don't cook meat very often.

curry verb
Let's curry (= make a curry with) the leftover meat.

deep-fry verb
to fry food in a deep pan in which the food is completely covered by oil

to pour alcohol over food and set fire to it during cooking:

to fry something quickly on both sides in very hot oil

to cook food in advance so that it can be heated and then eaten at a later time

to heat a cooker to a particular temperature before putting food in it:

Stir-fry the chicken for one minute, then add the vegetables.

toast verb
to make bread or other food warm, crisp and brown by putting it near a high heat:
Do you want this bread toasted?
Can I have a toasted sandwich, please?

well-done adjective
describes meat that is cooked all the way through and not just on the outside:
"How would you like your steak?" "Well-done."

to heat up liquid or food in a pan until it boils:
