COURSE SYNOPSIS
Bowtie Methodology is a Risk Management Tool used for Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk
Control (HIRARC), in a simple diagram form.

The diagram is shaped like a bow-tie, creating a clear differentiation between proactive and reactive risk
management. The advantage of a Bowtie diagram is that it gives you an overview of multiple plausible
scenarios with all the barriers to prevent those events in a single picture.

 To provide a systematic and objective approach for assessing hazards and their associated risk
