In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit… Amen.
Opening Prayer
O gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with
burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in
Your judgments but let some drops of Your Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames.
And, Merciful Savior, send Your angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light and
peace. Amen.

Oh Lord, have mercy on the souls of… (Mention here the fullname of your departed loved ones)

Remember, Lord, all of them who have died, and have gone before us, marked with
the sign of faith, especially those for whom we pray now. May these, and all who sleep in
Christ, find in Your presence light, happiness and peace. We also pray for the most forgotten
and abandoned souls that have no one else to pray for them, and for any souls who may be
suffering in purgatory due to our poor examples or some fault of ours. We ask this through
Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Mercy for our Dearly Departed

Our Heavenly Father, we pray that You will find mercy on the souls of our loved ones.
We pray that with their unexpected death, their souls may find peace that they have lived
a good life and did their best serving their families, workplace and loved ones while they
were on Earth. We also earnestly seek for the forgiveness of all their sins and all of their
short comings. May they find assurance that their families will remain strong and steadfast
in serving the Lord as they move forward in their journey to eternal life with Christ, their
Lord and Savior. Dear Father, take their souls into Your Kingdom and let perpetual light
shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Dear Father in heaven, we commend into your loving hands our

dearly departed loved ones who passed from this life to the next
accompanied with Your grace. In the Name of Your Son, Jesus
Christ, our Way, our Truth, and our Life, we pray that You forgive
them of their sins that they may join in Christ’s dying and rising
again triumphantly to new life. Grant them eternal rest and fulfill
that hope enkindled in our hearts by Your Spirit, that they are
destined to dwell forever in Your presence. Amen.
