Contractor Procedure

1. INTENT

 To identify SHE risks associated with contractors and management of contractors.

2. SCOPE

 Applies to all existing and contractors working on the premises of 247 Plumbing Service cc
Projects.

3. REFERENCES

 Occupational Health and Safety Act –General Safety Regulations

4. DEFINITIONS

Contractor

 Any person/persons employed by 247 Plumbing Service cc to perform work. Includes an agent, a
contractor or a subcontractor for work,

Existing contractor

 Any person/persons employed by 247 Plumbing Service cc to perform work, these are
contractors who are contracted to 247 Plumbing Service cc who are either permanent or work
regularly throughout the year at 247 Plumbing Service cc.

Procedure
 All contractors will be audited before being added to the approved contractor listing
 No contracted work will commence unless related contracts are finalized and signed by all
parties- 37.2 Agreement
 The contractor safety file will be audited before any new job is started
 Approval document needs to be signed off by both parties before work commences
 Contractors to leave safety file on site for records after completing the job.
 Once approved to work, contractors will need to be inducted before attending to site
