Organic food export can transform
Indian economy; Dairy can play major
role in it: Amit Shah
Union Home and Cooperation Minister
Amit Shah on Sunday said the Indian
economy will transform if it fulfils the
demand for organic food all over the world
and the dairy sector can play a big role in
achieving that. At present organic farming
is taken up in an area of 38.09 lakh
hectares in the country including 6.19 lakh
hectares under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas
Yojana (PKVY), 1.23 lakh hectares under
Namam iGange Programme, 4.09 lakh
hectares under BPKP (Natural Farming),
and 26.57 lakh hectares under National
Program for Organic Production (NPOP),
according to Ministry of Agriculture and

Launch Event of the State Energy and
Climate Index Round- 1-
NITI Aayog has launched the State Energy
& Climate Index-Round I on 11th April
2022 at an event chaired by Dr. Rajiv
Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog and
other dignitaries. Additional Secretary Dr
Rakesh Sarwal presented the key findings
of the Report. The State Energy & Climate
Index (SECI) Round I ranks the states’
performance on 6 parameters. Based on the
composite SECI Round I score, the states
and UTs are categorized into three groups:
Front Runners, Achievers, and Aspirants.

New materials & processes for carbon
capture and utilization could show new
light for global warming challenge-
A group of scientists from Indian Institute
of Chemical Technology (IICT) have
computationally designed a hybrid material
which can absorb greenhouse gas methane,
converting it to clean Hydrogen and also
simulated a process of capturing carbon
dioxide in-situ and converting it to high
purity hydrogen from non-fuel grade bio
ethanol. They have also designed a facility
that can test such materials and help further
carbon capture research at the institute.

Centre creates matrix for 50 agricultural
products with good export potential to
help boost agri exports-
India’s agri exports crossed USD 50 billion
for the year 2021-22, notwithstanding
logistical challenges posed by COVID-19
pandemic in the form of high freight rates,

Development Authority (APEDA), which
works under the Ministry of Commerce
and Industry, has scripted a new history by
exporting agricultural and processed food
products to the tune of USD 25.6 billion,
which is 51 per cent of the India’s total
agriculture exports of USD 50 billion.
APEDA has also created products matrix
for 50 agricultural products which have
good scope for expanding council’s exports
portfolios, according to Dr M Angamuthu,

Reserve Bank introduces principles for
mid, large NBFCs-
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday
introduced certain principles, standards and
procedures for mid and large non-banking
financial companies.The revised regulatory
framework for NBFCs, issued in October
2021, had indicated that such entities in the
Upper Layer (NBFC-UL) and Middle
Layer (NBFC-ML) would be required to
have an independent Compliance Function
and a Chief Compliance Officer
(CCO).The central bank said that as part of
the overall structure for corporate
governance, compliance function serves a

Govt working on scheme to promote
natural farming: Agri Minister
Narendra Singh Tomar
The Centre is working on a scheme to
promote natural farming and is
incorporating this traditional method of
cultivation in the syllabus of agri-varsities,
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh
Tomar said on Wednesday.The government
wants to encourage different methods of
farming techniques, including natural and
organic, in order to increase farmers’
income and make the farm sector self-
