Introduction
In this calculation note the design of the high seafastening stoppers are described. These stoppers
are constructed out of 3 H-beams; base, vertical and brace.

Three load cases are evaluated, load applied at the top, at brace level and half way on the vertical
beam.

The strength check is set-up based on a unit load, which is scaled based on the highest utilized part.
This is done for all three load application levels.

The interface with the vessel is checked based on the point load compression capacity for the rear
side of the stopper, and the uplift capacity of the welds below deck at the front.

Uplift is transferred to deck with 2 sets of brackets, aligned with the structure below deck.

Material properties
For Nominal values of yield strength reference is made to EN 1993-1-1-2005.

For the new structure steel quality S355 or equivalent is used σy  355MPa
(thickness < 40mm). The specified minimum yield stress:

For the vessel structure interface the following yield stress is specified: σy_deck  235MPa

Young's modulus E  210GPa
