A post-training delivery cost-benefit analysis is required for organizations in order to assess

the efficacy and efficiency of their training programs. The company can use this analysis to
calculate the return on investment (ROI) of its training program and then decide how much
money to invest in training programs in the coming future. Kirk Patrick's four levels of
evaluation are used most often by organizations when assessing training: reaction, learning,
behaviour, and results. As a result of the discovery that organizations spend a great deal of
money on training without assessing the return on investment for training, Kirk Patrick added
the fifth level of training evaluation, the ROI, to the training evaluation model (MSG, n.d.).
Cost-benefit analysis help organizations understand whether the advantages of the training
program outweigh the disadvantages. The business can decide if the training program is a
wise investment if the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. If the costs exceed the
benefits, the training program may need to be re-evaluated, or the organization can find
alternative training methods that may need to be explored. A cost-benefit analysis will also
help with the transparency and accountability of the organization (Henry, n.d.).
A cost-benefit analysis can also assist businesses in identifying training program
improvements. For instance, if the analysis shows that the training program is not producing
the desired results, the organization can look into why and alter the program to increase its
efficacy. Resource optimization can also be another benefit as organizations have limited
resources, and cost-benefit analysis helps to find the suitable training methods (Ferriman,
2023). Overall, doing a cost-benefit analysis in post-training delivery contexts is a crucial
tool for businesses to assess the efficacy and efficiency of their training programs and make
defensible choices regarding future training investments.
