Students will have two weeks to develop the activities.

STRESS
These days we all suffer from various degrees of stress balancing work and family lives
can be difficult due to financial and social difficulties that can make us struggle. Try to
recognize when you are suffering from stress, test common symptoms include,

headaches, irritability, pain in body parts such as back, shoulders, or neck, insomnia and
poor concentration. sometimes people find that they are smoking more or drinking more
to ease their stress but this is a dangerous path which can lead to severe health
problems. So, when feeling stress, take some minutes to relax, do not overthink on your
job, go out with friends, practice relaxation techniques, or take a massage.
DEPRESSION
Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that
negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is
also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities
once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can
decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home. Depression symptoms can
vary from changes in appetite, weight loss, feeling worthless or guilty, until thoughts of
death or suicide. The treatment depends on the diagnostic; if it is a medical condition
can be treated with medication but if is a mental condition can be treated with
psychotherapy.
INFLUENZA
It is a common viral infection that can be deadly, especially in high-risk groups. Flu as
it is also commonly called attacks the lungs, nose and throat. Young children, older
adults, pregnant women and people with chronic disease or weak immune systems are
at high risk. Symptoms include fever or temperature, chills, muscle and body aches,
cough, congestion, runny nose, sore throat, headaches and fatigue or difficulty to
breathe. The flu is treated primarily with rest and fluid to let the body fight the infection
on its own. Although some anti-inflammatory pills as pain relievers may help with
symptoms. An annual vaccine can help prevent the flu and limits its complications.
OBESITY
If doctors tell you you're obese, they're not trying to make you feel bad. They're using a
specific medical term “ obesity” to talk with you about your weight. The word "obesity"
means too much body fat. It's usually based on your body mass index (BMI), which you
can check using a BMI calculator. BMI compares your weight to your height. If your BMI
is 25 to 29.9, you're overweight but not obese. A BMI of 30 or more is in the obese range.
Obesity can lead to high blood pressure, heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol,
joint problems especially knees and feet caused by extra weight, trouble breathing
including sleep apnea, in which you briefly stop breathing while you're asleep and others.
Treatment for obesity includes changes in eating habits, medication, and surgery. But the
most powerful treatment is prevention doing regular exercise and eating healthy food.

3)Teniendo en cuenta el texto DISEASES, SYMTOMPS AND TREATEMENTS crea una infografía
con información similar a la presentada en cada una de las enfermedades del texto. Lee
cuidadosamente las siguientes instrucciones para realizar la infografía(infographic).
1. Escoge una enfermedad de la que te gustaría hablar, ésta enfermedad que escojas
debe ser diferente a las que se exponen en el texto DISEASES, SYMTOMPS AND
TREATEMENTS.
2. Busca información sobre la enfermedad que has escogido.
3. Escribe en un borrador, ¿De qué se trata la enfermedad?
4. Escribe, ¿cuáles son los síntomas de la enfermedad?
5. Escribe, ¿cuál es el tratamiento para la enfermedad que has escogido?
6. Escribe, ¿Cómo prevenir esta enfermedad? (En caso de que tenga cómo
prevenirla).
7. Busca un creador de infografías como por ejemplo CANVA, PIKTOCHART,
GENIALLY, u otro del que conozcas. También puedes usar word o powerpoint
si así lo prefieres.
8. Si no sabes cómo utilizar creadores de infografías aquí te dejo algunos links
