*Analysis
Waste Reduction- is anything that reduces waste by using less material in the
first place.
Examples:
Reusing- Reusing different materials can also reduce waste since you are
using an item whether for its original purpose or fulfilling it with another
function.
Selling/Donating/Exchanging
Waste Storage- may range from pits or dugouts, storage bins, or actual
storage facilities or structures intended to keep waste separately according to
their classification.
Examples:
Reusable- It is the act of taking old items that you might consider throwing
away and finding a new use for them.
Waste Disposal- proper waste disposal does not simply mean throwing away
trash. It involves other procedures such as collection, transport, and treatment
of waste.
Examples:
Composting- It may include some practices like land filling and incineration.
It is also a very inexpensive method of waste disposal. It is very convenient
and does not require too much mechanical structure and facilities.
Example:
*Abstraction
Instruction: The teacher will give 10 scenarios about people and their ways in
disposing their wastes. The teacher will then ask the students to do thumbs up if
the situation is PROPER and do thumbs down if the situation is IMPROPER.
After the activity, the teacher will ask the students through the following questions:
Why is it important to know different ways of proper waste management?
What will be the bad effect of not following the proper waste management?
Can you help on protecting our environment? How?
*Application
