II. SUMMARIZE +/- 50 WORDS (COMMAND AND REQUEST) :

 Command is a sentence that order someone to do something. It ends with a period

(.) or an exclamation (!)

Jadi, command adalah kalimat perintah yang di utarakan kepada seseorang untuk

melakukan sesuatu. Kalimat perintah biasanya di akhiri tanda (.) atau tanda (!)

Formulation :

Verb 1 + Object (.) (!)

Example :

 Close the door!

 Sit down, please!

REQUEST

Request is a sentence that asks someone to do something. It ends with period

(.) or question mark (?) and it’s more polite

Request adalah kalimat yang digunakan untuk mengutarakan permintaan kepada

seseorang untuk melakukan sesuatu, pada akhir kalimat ini biasanya di akhiri tanda (.)

atau tanda (!) , dan terdengar lebih santun.

Formulation :

Request usually begin with will, could, would, and may

Example :

 Would you like to help me?

 May I talk you about something?

II.

In my view, the difference between a command and a request can be summarized as follows:

Command:

- Tone: Commands are authoritative and direct, often using imperative verbs and

conveying a sense of instruction or obligation.

- Authority: Commands typically come from a position of power or authority, where the

person giving the command expects immediate compliance or has the ability to enforce it.

- Expectation: Commands are given with the expectation that the recipient will

unquestioningly follow them.

Example: "Close the door."

Request:

- Tone: Requests are polite and less forceful. They are framed as questions or favors, often

including polite phrases like "please" or "could you."

- Authority: Requests are made from a position of equality or subordination, without

exerting direct authority over the recipient.

- Expectation: Requests acknowledge the recipient's autonomy and give them the choice to

comply or decline without consequences.

Example: "Could you please close the door?"

Note: This is a condensed version of the original passage, summarizing the main points.
