3. ‘I don’t believe giving can ever be as good as receiving.

’ Do you think
this is true? Give reasons and examples to support your view.

Giving can be equally good as receiving, but in actual it is more better to

give, than to receive anything. The act of giving elicits positive feelings
and emotions. However, to better understand giving, we must also
understand the importance of receiving.

One main advantage of giving , is to inspire positive change and healing

in the world. It is a way to show appreciation, to say thank you, to show
someone you care. There are many people that we come across in our
everyday life that perhaps make our days easier, such as neighbors, co-
workers, even mail carriers or the local cashier at the grocery store.
Giving does not always have to be a gift, it can be a kind word , a hug ,
an anonymous gift , or a silent prayer for someone. For instance, if they
have a bad day, saying some positive will cheer them up.

It is suggested that giving is an important trait to teach children. For

example, if a child helps pick out a gift for a family member who is
having a birthday and presents them with this gift , it teaches them to
be charitable, generous and benevolent . Visiting someone in the
hospital, sending a thank you card, get-well card or congratulations
card, are excellent ways to teach a child the importance of
giving.Furthermore, simple sayings like please or thank you can also
make people feel good.

On the other hand, giving feels wonderful, but receiving is also

necessary. When you receive a gift you feel that you have importance in
giver’s life. It gives you a sense of honor and appreciation.Giving and
receiving, both is necessary for flow of life, but receiving without giving
is a selfish act.

In my opinion, giving is an important value in life than receiving. It helps

people experience happiness, achieve greatness, and get satisfaction in
life. If people become selfless, they will grow intellectually. Moreover,
they can be truly happy if they genuinely care for others.
