09 Aquatic Interactions Reflection Worksheet

Student Name: laila
Time Estimate: 45 minutes

Instructions:

Use your module survey (anticipation guide) and your marine tracking observations to write your reflection.
Your reflection should include two paragraphs based on the following:

 Review the questions posed for Tracking Marine Life. Then write a one-paragraph reflection to discuss
your observations and ways they may relate to the anchoring phenomenon.

When I observed what I saw and thought was interesting, I noticed how long these things stayed with these animals and
how when they were done, they flound up and were captured to see their travel history. Taking the tracker back to the lab,
they can see where the animal had traveled while it had its tracker on, and these animals can travel for miles and miles. It's
pretty cool how if they lose it and it appears somewhere else, the computer will generate a hypothesis on how it got there.
Overall, tracking these animals is a miraculous experience and we can learn so much about these marine mammals
through tracking devices.

 Include an additional paragraph to explain how at least three of your responses from your survey have
changed or are more supported with your new knowledge.

My belief was that ocean drilling had more positives than negatives, but I found out it had far more negatives than
positives. I thought that the oceans all shared the same level of salinity, but I was wrong about that too, as many oceans
have different salinity levels. I thought wetlands could just purify all the pollution in freshwater locations, but that was
wrong again because they cannot do it all.
