Task 1
The one thing I've most noticed with the ocean is that I can let things go. I feel the ocean and
water always brings a sense of peace in my soul, even if it takes a little time when I get to the water's
edge. It makes me feel there's something more. It's a forever expanding and living creature, just as we
are.
Task 2
1. Palawan- Palawan, officially the Province of Palawan, is an archipelagic province of the
Philippines that is located in the region of Mimaropa. It is the largest province in the country
in terms of total area of 14,649.73 km². The capital city is Puerto Princesa.
2. St. Paul Subterranean River National Park- This park features a spectacular limestone karst
landscape with an underground river. One of the river's distinguishing features is that it
emerges directly into the sea, and its lower portion is subject to tidal influences. The area also
represents a significant habitat for biodiversity conservation.
3. El Nido- Known for its stunning lagoons, white sand beaches, rocky islets, towering
limestone cliffs, and glasslike waters teeming with marine life. The island has earned nothing
but praises from visitors, and numerous accolades of being one the best island and beach
destinations in the world.
4. Lagen Island- A haven of tranquility nestled between a lush forest and a calm shallow lagoon.
Cottages, rooms and suites are well appointed over the water, beside the beach, or surrounded
by verdant forest. Lagen Island is part of the El Nido Resorts group and is located in El Nido,
northwestern part of Palawan.
5. Malampaya Sound- A protected inlet of the South China Sea on the northwestern coast of
Palawan Island in western Philippines. It is a geographic sound consisting of a complex of
sheltered bays, coves, estuaries and islands separated from the sea to the west by the Copoas
Peninsula.

Task 8
It was bis as my slipper.
It divided towards the direction of the horizon where the moon was hiding.
Week 2
1. “The poet sees himself a seer” this indicates a new or different perception of the poet. The
following line “by a prodigious and rational disordering of all the senses.” Can be as a time of
difficulty that the poet has to face. A poet sees himself as a credited person with moral and
spiritual insight. Wherein, in writing creative non fiction, it can help writers produce text with
sense and be able to be an inspiration and motivation to others.
2. We remember words that touch our hearts. It speaks for the earth as well as the depths of
human feeling, both elation as in “sheer morning gladness at the brim” or the sadness of”
nothing to look backward to with pride and nothing to look forward to with hope. We don’t
often start with a lump in the throat, we start with someone else’s idea. But if we’re to turn it
into art, we better find out what drives our clients. Even if it’s cynical self-promotion, there’s
something vulnerable, alive and art-worthy hiding behind the agenda. She goes deep into the
“genealogy” of her poetry and stays there. It’s just as Frost observed so many years ago. It
hasn’t changed.
3. Bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least
something different.  The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique,
utterly different from that from which it was torn; the bad poet throws into something which
has no cohesion.  A good poet will usually borrow from authors remote in time, or alien in
language, or diverse in interest." Eliot's observation is cited in Richard Posner's study, "The
Little Book of Plagiarism."  One of Posner's compelling claims is that "creative imitation is a
modern market imperative." Now, our students are typically not looking to publish, but they
do want to sound impressive.  They often feel dismayed by asking them to render an original
opinion on, say, Jane Austen, when so much has already been said by others.  Often, the
smarter ones will try to re-work an idea of another author into their own.  In my experience,
most don't even know it is wrong to reword someone else's language and then present the idea
as their own.

4. What appears romantic, or pathetic, may also be a product of calculation and self-
consciousness. Whatever mood or emotion a poet may have can become romantically
exploited for verse. This much is clear. In monitoring one’s reactions; however, in imitating
oneself, the very activity of reflection gives rise to the question of the truth both of the
emotion and its exploitation: for it follows that any romantic must also in a sense be an actor
or actress in order to behave as if he or she is unselfing the truth. The relation is more
complex for the poet. The emotions are the poet’s “own”. An “I” is essential to lyric poetry.
Further, ingenuity and naiveté are assumed to be the province of the poet. Thus, the poet’s
experiences are exploited but done so “shamelessly”, for they personally proclaim the poet’s
innocence.
5. They can turn the list of their customers name who given them clothes ,and change the list
into poem. And by that they can help in writing creative nonfiction through writing their
personal experiences that can people read and inspire through their personal experiences in
life.
Week 3
Task 1
- Artistic
- Exaggerated
- The driving force and forward motion of drama to create dramatic meaning, tension, belief and
audience engagement.
- manner of a drama
- The movement of the drama from the introduction, exposition of ideas and conflict to a resolution.
Task 2
This is what It’s like to watch Hate and Fear grow after the attack in nice. I choose this to insinuate a
solution to the problem that comparable to terrorist who drove a truck through the crowd in Nice
attacked the only place in Jules Darmanin's hometown where people from all walks of life could co-
exist. Now hate speech is on the rise.
Task 3
Situation- the early scenes of the play answer basic questions in the spectators’ minds: Where are we?
What is the issue or problem? What past history explains the current situation? In short, the early part
is an exposition, it will give the audience the background of the story
Character- The character in the drama is always in motion, in action. We know the character by what
he/she is saying which brings us to dialogue as element of drama. A character is saying something
that will lead to another action or event that will move the story toward the climax and the ending.
Dialogue- will give us more information about the character, as well as more exposition. A dialogue
must push the story forward; meaning, a writer does not use dialogue just to lengthen the piece.
Plot- The element of plot in drama is also like that in fiction, for drama is also fiction. A plot is a
series of events arranged logically to make the story more interesting.
Style- Style has something to do with the playwrights’ or the writers’ use of language. For example,
William Shakespeare’s style is elegant because it uses poetry as the language of drama.

Week 5
Task 3
The plot, point of view, character, setting, tone, and atmosphere, symbol and irony, and
meaning are the primary elements that a fiction writer uses to create a story. However, in whatever
form of fiction, the theme is essential. We all knew that creating a story is part of the literary process,
thus it is shaped by creativity. It's like painting or sketching information for anyone to create a perfect
story. To visualize an idea that could make a story succeed, we must constantly include aspects of
fiction, since if any elements of fiction are missing from our story, this might be improper. As a result,
we must instill the knowledge we've gained about the aspect of fiction that we've learned, because a
story should also have a plot that explains how the story unfolded. Following that is the point of view
from which the story is told and addressed. Then there will be a character that portrays the story and
gives life into it. A human or an animal can represent it. It also necessitates establishing the location,
exact time, and tone, which can be defined as the writer's attitude regarding his or her topic. The
mood is strongly tied to the atmosphere. A symbol is an object which is used in literacy to symbolize
something. The theme explains what the story is about in overall. Lastly, knowing the audience's
reaction or having a lesson to learn from the story.

Task 4

Task 5
Violence Against Women and Children, or VAWC, was among the most difficult matters that
health care professionals and government agencies are dealing with today. Every violence performed
on one family member or friend is considered violence against women and children. Women's abuse
and child abuse are two types of violence. The abuser bears responsibility for the assault he or she
committed. Because such violent acts can include medical personnel in the treatment of physical
injuries, the mental effects on the person, or the abuser's hostile behavior. Frequently, government
entities are charged with investigating such cases in order to guarantee the safety of the victims or to
decide the suitable punishment for the attacker. Yet, with our culture's emphasis on family bonds and
rights, it can be difficult to tell when a situation at home is "no one's concern" and when it necessitates
outside action to preserve the welfare of people involved. As a result, we should know how to defend
for our rights and gain a better understanding of anything and everything.
Week 6
My Hometown
Santa, officially the Municipality of Santa (Ilocano: Ili ti Santa; Filipino: Bayan ng Santa),
is a 4th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it
has a population of 14,992 people.  Due to Santa's natural setting (the ridge of Mount Tetas de Santa
in the east; the winding Abra River and delta in the north and NW of Santa; and the South China
Sea to the west), then Governor-General of the Philippines Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. on his visit in
1925 exclaimed: “The mountain in the east, the winding roping river in the north, and the immense
sea in the west make Santa a poetic town.”

A popular lore tells us that when the scribe of the Spanish explorers was naming the places
where they already established settlements, the scribe had a difficult time of thinking of a Catholic
Saint's name of saints to name the place (Santa Catalina, Santa Lucia, and Santa Maria were already
taken), so the town was simply named "Santa." (Some versions of the story say that the scribe fell
asleep or was drunk when he was writing a name for the town and just wrote "Santa".)

The municipality of Santa was formerly called Santa Catalina de Alexandria, Virgen y Mártir,
after the town's patron saint Saint Catherine of Alexandria. According to folk stories, after the
devastation of the town by the first flood in 1852 (Layos Bungsot), the name was shortened to Santa
Catalina de Alexandria. The present name of Santa came to be, after the second flood of 1905 (Layos
Nawnaw). It was believed that by changing the name after the disasters would save the town from
further devastation.

According to Augustinian maps of 1831 and 1834, Santa was founded in 1576. The
Augustinian established missionary centers in the towns of Vigan in 1575 and Santa in 1576. On the
founding of Bantay in 1591 as a pueblo, Santa was made its “visita” until 1713 when it became an
independent vicariate. The prestige of the town was boosted in 1802 when the provisional diocese was
established and was housed in the rectory of Santa until 1834

The “Malong Revolt” disturbed the quiet life of the town in 1660-1661 when Andres Malong of
Binalatongan (now San Carlos City in Pangasinan province) rose in arms to protest the abuses in the
collection of tribute and in the conscription of men for “palo y servicios” (forced labor). Malong
proclaimed himself “King of Pangasinan” and tried to extend his kingdom by sending his Count Pedro
Gumapos to Ilocos.

Gumapos pursued the retreating Spaniards who sought refuge in  Agoo in present-day La Union.
The Spaniards and the loyalists made their last stand in Pideg, Santa. Pedro de la Peña, who was
defending Pideg Pass, sheltered the great number of the rebels who camped in nearby Narvacan and
offered them free passage across Pideg Pass
On December 14, 1762, Diego Silang led the “caillianes” (common man or townsfolk) in the
most obstinate insurrection against the Spaniards in the 18th century. He crystallized the discontent of
the “caillianes” caused by the imposition of tribute and forced labor. He proclaimed a “Free Ilocos”
and made Vigan its capital.

When the Spaniards failed to stop Diego Silang in combat, Miguel Vicos aided by Pedro
Becbec who were both Silang's trusted friends, betrayed Diego Silang by shooting him in the back on
May 26, 1763. Gabriela, the wife of Diego with the help of her uncle, Nicolas Cariño, continued her
husband's fight and defeated the Spaniards and their soldiers in the battle of Banaoang, Santa on
August 24, 1763.

I recall Visiting Saint Catherine of Alexandria Parish that is the most prominent church here in
Santa after the old church of Santa which is located at Nagpanaon Santa. When I first saw it I was
amazed by the beautiful Church and until now I always appreciate the beauty of our church that’s why
at the moment I am a member of Integral Youth Ministry, Choir and a lay minister.

So now this is my Hometown Santa and I am proud of it because of our history that we always
treasured and the beauty of the people which is the Santanians. So come and Visit our town if you
want to experience a better one.

Week 8
My Mother’s Biography

My mother is the person who has the most impact in my life, and she made me a better person.
My mother has many good qualities and values, and being a strong woman, supportive, and spiritual
are the most important description of her personality. My mother and I didn't talk very well because
she was always interrupted because she was busy and selling in our store, so I waited for her to have
some spare time so we could finish our narrative. But a little description to my mother; My mother is
already 56 years old, a humble housewife who is competent, compassionate, hardworking, and a
loving mother to us. She is a wonderful person with black short hair. My mother is a very positive and
enthusiastic. She is a simple mother who only wants is her children to be happy and secure. The
majority of us would say that our mothers are the best of all. But, for me, my mother is my life, my
motivation, my best friend, my partner, my defender, my everything. It seems like if I don't see her,
my day is incomplete, and my life is imperfect without her.

I was embarrassed to ask the first question because my mother and I were not used to
communicating in deep, but I persisted because I wanted to know what she had been gone through.
The first question I asked her was about her schooling at the time, if she was happy while studying or
how the educational system was at the time. “Wen, nagmamayat ti skwelahan idi, nagrigat ti byag idi
panawen mi ta halos haan kami pay agbalbalon nu mapan kam agbasan sunga swerte yo tatta ta addo
ti way nga makapagbasa kayo, ken halos amin tatta ket maited agijay kaykayatyon.” My mother
answered. And her answer makes me realize that I need to study hard for me and for my Mother
because she is the reason and my inspiration to study well and I want the best for my Mother and I
always feel that she is proud of me because my achievements is also her achievements that’s why I
always do my best for her because she gives meaning and purpose of my life and I love her so much.
The second question that I asked is “ how hard to become a mother?” and she answered “ haan nga
narigat ti agbalin nga ina no amom nga para kadagiti anak mo amin nga araramidem lalo no makitam
ti resulta na dagiti rigrigat mo” this answer makes me realize how grateful I am that I have a mother
like her and as her son I always feel the love of my mother to me specially when I need her in my
breakdowns. And I always thank God that he gave me a loving mother. That’s why I don’t waste any
time to love her because everyday I always show how grateful I am and that’s the greatest gift I ever
receive in my whole life and I always treasure it.
