This is part of an email you have received from your friend Anna In New Zealand:

I'm doing a project about people's reading habits In different countries. Can you
tell me about your country? Can you give me some idea about the situation in
your country? Whet changes have there been in what people read and how they
read? Is this the same for all age groups?

Hello Anna
I hope you are well and reading my email. I'm happy to learn that you're working
on a project about reading preferences around the world. I can provide you some
information on Romania, where I'm from.
Reading continues to play a significant role in people's lives in Romania, especially
the old generation. However, younger generations have changed their reading
preferences to digital media like e books, online articles, and blogs as a result of
the development of technology and the internet. Physical book sales have
decreased as a result, but digital book sales have increased.
In addition, the subject matter of what people read has evolved over time. There
has been a change in literature toward more modern and read books, like
bestsellers and self-help books. However, reading of classical literature is still
common in colleges and universities.
In terms of music, Parazitii is a well-known hip-hop group in Romania that uses
their lyrics to discuss social and political topics. Their music is often used as a tool
to express disagreement with issues in politics and society. "Mesaj pentru
Europa," one of their songs, is a powerful commentary of the politics in Romania
and the lack of support for youth.
I hope the information I've provided for your project is useful. If you have any
further inquiries, please let me know.

Best wishes, Vlad
