 Consist of interlocking functions of creating corporate policy and organizing, planning,


controlling, and directing an organization’s resources in order to achieve the objectives of that
policy.
 Is both function and people. It is also social position and authority (Drucker 1977)
 Is getting things done through and with other people using resources over time. (M.P Follet,
1917)
 To accomplish organizational goals (Baterman &Snell, 2011; 2011; Hitt et. Al, 2011, Bernardin
2010)
 Is the process of working w/ people & resources

* It is necessary regardless of organizational from: Private, Public or non-profit

WHY ORGANIZATIONS ARE NEEDED?

 It helps in optimum utilization of financial and human resources. It not only aids in the proper
assignment of jobs to suitable employees but also keeps track that there is no waste of
resources and efforts due to duplication of work.
