F1: IndyCar champion Alex Palou to take on McLaren reserve role.

LONDON —Spaniard Alex Palou, the 2021 IndyCar champion, will combine racing in the U.S. series
next year with a McLaren Formula One reserve role where schedules allow, the team said on Thursday.

The 25-year-old took part in Friday free practice at this year’s U.S. Grand Prix in Austin and has also
been involved in McLaren’s driver development testing program.

Palou will continue to race for Chip Ganassi Racing next season after a failed attempt to move to
McLaren’s IndyCar team. McLaren has Britain’s Lando Norris and Australian rookie Oscar Piastri as their
2023 Formula One lineup.

Blue Eagles take No. 1 seed, sends Final 4 foes into knockout duel
There were so many reasons for Ateneo to feel grateful on Wednesday night. The Blue Eagles returned
to a familiar roost entering the Final Four and also bought themselves extra time to get Ange Kouame fit
as a fiddle in time for the semifinal wars.

“Hopefully this will give us momentum going into the Final Four,” assistant coach Sandy
Arespacochaga said after Ateneo’s 66-61 victory over Adamson in the UAAP Season 85 Men’s
basketball tournament gave the Blue Eagles the No. 1 seed.

Ateneo’s win also sent the Falcons into a no-tomorrow duel with the La Salle Green Archers, who
earlier at Smart Araneta Coliseum turned back University of Santo Tomas (UST), 77-72.
Adamson and La Salle battle in a knockout match for the No. 4 seed on Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

UAAP: Falcons focusing on what they can ‘control’ vs Archers as injuries

hound both teams

MANILA, Philippines—Adamson will welcome La Salle in their playoff for the last Final Four berth on
Sunday without any excuses. The fact that the Green Archers have been dealing with the absence of
Schonny Winston and key players occasionally is not something Falcons coach Nash Racela is dealing
with lightly.

“It’s no secret, they’re (La Salle) not 100%, but whatever percentage they’re in will be welcome for us.
Even AP (Manlapaz) is not 100%. He played but he was gassed,” Racela said after their 66-61 loss against
Ateneo on Wednesday.

Like the Green Archers, Adamson is also playing with fatigued and hurt players like Manlapaz, Vince
Magbuhos and Jerom Lastimosa, who is still not 100% healed from his ankle injury.
