HEALTH EDUCATION- STI; HIV-AIDS: SARS/COVID

On the second week of March 12, 2022, the Health Education- STI; HIV- AIDS:
SARS/COVID Webinar was conducted in Microsoft Teams, which more than 200 audiences
joined the webinar including students, teachers, guest speakers, and facilitators from Sacred
Heart Seminary. The first guest speaker was from DOH where she is expertise in STI; HIV-
AIDS: SARS/COVID. In which, she talked about what we are going to do if we have symptoms
of HIV/AIDS? How we can identify if we have this kind of disease? How we are going to
prevent spreading these diseases? What are the benefits of it for us?
The webinar started by opening prayer through playing music videos in teams by
seminarians. Then, National Anthem, Hic hymn, and lastly very energetic and inspiring
information about the first speaker in our webinar. Thus, before the training session begins
the speaker introduces the objectives where the participants will be able to; Define and
differentiate STI, HIV, and AIDS, Understand how HIV is transmitted from one person to
another, correct misconceptions about HIV transmission, understand how HIV affects the
body and lastly learn how HIV and AIDS can be prevented as well as treated and managed.
The first thing is that Sexually Transmissible are infections primarily transmitted
through sexual contact, but also can be transmitted through non-sexual means.
Furthermore, they show some pictures about common signs and symptoms of STIs for us to
be more aware of these. Globally, the brief history of HIV was mentioned from 1981 to 2016
while here in our country stated that we had HIV cases from 1984 to 2018 and the numbers
of the case were in low, growing and fast. In addition, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
are two species of Lentivirus that infect humans and the speaker also tackled what should
we do in terms of connection of pregnancy to HIV, the HIV infections, aids condition, how
the HIV is transmitted, and some information about the successful transmitted of HIV like
blood, hima, tamod, Gatas ng ina are some of these are higher contact to have HIV. The
prevention of HIV can give us more knowledge about what we are going to do.
On how we can avoid these knowing that we wonder what about apply our personal risk
management. Well, the speaker said it clearly that is better to have an HIV Anti-Body, Access
to HIV screening until a cure is found the only effective prevention does not allow the virus
to enter the body.
After the first speaker gives an informative discussion she is Analiza L. Balila was given a
Certificate of Appreciation on the 12th day of March 2022 at Holy Infant College.

SAFETY AND SECURITY- CRIME PREVENTION

On the second week of March 12, 2022, the Safety and Security- Crime Prevention
Webinar was conducted in Microsoft Teams, which more than 200 audiences joined the
webinar including students, teachers, guest speakers, and facilitators from Sacred Heart
Seminary. Well, after the first speaker we have also a second speaker from Tacloban City
Police Station that I really admired the most because of being a good rule model in our
generation. As we know, obviously she talked about our safety and security specifically how
to prevent a different kind of crime? How to avoid human trafficking? What to do if there
are instances of this kind of situation? How it can help us, especially the youth?
The webinar started by opening prayer through playing music video in teams by
seminarians. Then, National Anthem, Hic hymn, and the other one is introducing the second
speaker in a simple way like her personality and a character she have as police woman. In
addition, the topic that she mentioned was “LABAN kontra Human Trafficking LABAN NATIN
LAHAT”. Which RA 9208 is Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 as amended by RA 10364
is Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012. The speaker tackled what is the Republic
Act of 9208 as amended by the Republic Act 10364. It means, institute policies to eliminate
trafficking in person. Especially, it establishes the necessary institutional mechanism to
protect and support trafficked persons, and provides penalties for its violations. There are
elements of Trafficking in Person including Acts, means, and purpose for us to easily
understand these elements. The speaker said those are recruitment, obtaining, hiring,
providing, and offering this is under by Acts. While means is by use of threat or of force, or
other forms of coercion and other one is purpose it is for exploitation or the prostitution of
others or other forms of sexual exploitation. And then she explain what are the forced labor,
Involuntary Servitude, Debt Bandage, and lastly slavery.
In the next slide, it says how Trafficking in Person is different from Illegal Recruitment
and Human Smuggling. The differentiate of this are in the part of trafficking persons is May
or may not involve coercion, while illegal recruitment , usually does not involve coercion
then human smuggling is usually does not involve coercion. Furthermore, it was mentioned
the three categories of Trafficking in Persons. One, the Acts of Trafficking in Persons, two
Acts that promote Trafficking Persons, and third Qualified Trafficking Persons. Additionally,
the penalty and act was given the speaker. In which, she said where we are going to report,
what are the mandatory services available for trafficked persons, and lastly what protection
is given to trafficked persons, what is the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT),
The crime prevention was under in the words of desire, capability, and opportunity
In conclusion, the second guest speaker discussed an informative and detailed topics.
Specifically, it includes the safety and security to everyone. The speaker was PCPL RUSELLA
MARI D. AUSTRIA was awarded of Certificate of Appreciation given on March 12, 2022 at
Holy Infant College. In this case, they have special thanks message by Joel O. Dejarlo, MM,

LEARNING INSIGHT
Well, I know that this webinar is the most effective way to lessen the possibilities
to happen that we have right now especially if we are talking our safety, health education
and security. This are the words that I imagined if I am going to understand it clearly the
health education, safety and security. In a way of learning about these important words I
can say that I can easily identify the importance of living. Additionally, it says how we are
going to prevent the spreading of HIV-AIDS, SARS/COVID. Furthermore, how we are going to
handle the diseases like we should consult the expertise about the disease because it’s for
us to know the condition to our health. When the speaker said that until a cure is found the
only effective prevention is not allow the virus to enter the body. The other one, is crime
prevention, human trafficking in person and security was discussed the second speaker. I
think they want us to know that our safety is more important than doing something bad
that you will regret eventually. Thus, in my case I am grateful, delighted and happy to gain
more knowledge about this webinar. The discussion and the guest speakers are very
amazing because the way that they explain the topics. I’ve learned and I can say that I would
love to share my knowledge to others.
