PURPOSE

2.2 Asset Explorer
PURPOSE
The Asset Explorer shows planned as well as already posted asset balance sheet values and depreciation
of a fixed asset in various formats and levels of summarization. The Asset Explorer is used for displaying
and analyzing fixed asset values.
PREREQUISIT ES
Asset should exist in system.

3.0 Depreciation Run
PURPOSE
Use this procedure to post depreciation of all Assets. The planned depreciation is posted to the
relevant general ledger control accounts when the periodic depreciation-posting is run
PREREQUISIT ES
Asset should already exist in system and its depreciation status should be planned.

2. Update the following fields:

4. Click Execute .Firstly executes it in Test Run mode.

off, the system requires that the session be run in Background.

9.2 Sale of Asset without customer (Manual Value)

An asset is sold, resulting in revenue being earned. The sale is posted without a customer. The
revenue earned is manually entered in the transaction. (Illustrated here)
An asset is sold, resulting in revenue being earned. The sale is posted against a clearing account.
Scenario
An asset sale is posted in FI through this transaction where the following entry is passed by the
system
Clearing a/c Dr.

The invoice on the customer is raised in the SD (Sales & Distribution) module. Which passes the

Field Name Field Description Values
Manual value Revenue that was realized due to the sale of an asset or part of an asset. The system 70000
determines the gain/loss as the difference between the revenue and the net book value
of the asset being retired. When the retirement involves acquisitions from prior fiscal
years and acquisitions from the current fiscal year, the system also divides the sales
revenue proportionately.
