Good afternoon!

Today I am going to present my topic and the main points that I am

going to search for. The topic of my master's degree program is «Psycholinguistic
mechanisms of emotion expression».

Emotions are an important integral part of the human world, its activities in general
and communicative activities in particular. The problem of "language and emotions"
was named among the five most prioritized modern linguistic studies in the decision
of the IV International Congress of Linguists, held in Berlin in 1987, after Frantyšek
Danes, a representative of the Prague Linguistic School, gave a speech at the plenary
session about the emotional aspect of language. The degree of scientific development
of the topic. Recently, more and more attention has been paid to the problem of
emotionality in linguistics: researchers attribute the problem of emotionality to the
primary tasks of anthropocentric linguistics (V.Yu. Apresyan, Yu.D. Apresyan, E.M.
Wolf, V.N. Teliya, V.Y. Shakhovskyi , Vezhbytska A. and others). This interest of
researchers can be explained not only by the social significance of this phenomenon,
but also by its complexity. However, despite the variety of themes and genres, the
series "Bridgertons" and "Crown" have not yet been the object of a separate
comprehensive study. The obtained results can be used in further research.
The research questions are:
1) Describe the concept of "communicative behavior"
2) Investigate the problems of emotion representation in emociology
3) Establish a connection between emotionality and national characteristics of
communicative behavior.
4) Identify the national and cultural features of the verbalization of emotions in the
English language.
Research Methods
The work will comprehensively use different scientific methods and techniques.
To study the psycholinguistic mechanisms of emotion expression (on the example of
an English-language film), I will use the following research methods:
1) 1. The synthesis will be used to create a general picture based on the
expression of emotions at different linguistic levels, such as lexical, syntactic
and others, to understand the main ways of verbalizing the emotional
component of language.
2) 2. Induction will be used to analyze individual examples and means of
expression to further understand the emotionality of a particular culture in
general.
To achieve the goal, the following linguistic methods were also used:
1. The method of comparative analysis will be used to compare the
characteristics of verbal means of expressing emotions in series of different
genres, revealing their similarities and differences.
2. The method of structural-semantic analysis will be used to study differences
in the expression of emotions of different social classes of Great Britain, as
well as to compare the expressiveness of verbalization in Ukrainian and British
culture.
3. The method of quantitative analysis was used to study the means of
expressing emotionality in the English and Ukrainian languages.

Significance of Research
The theoretical significance of the work lies in the further development of the
mechanisms of psycholinguistic expressions of emotions in movies or series.
The practical value of the research is determined by the fact that the obtained results
can be applied in the educational work of universities, in particular during the
teaching of such standard courses as "Psycholinguistics", "Sociolinguistics";
educational and methodological work (compilation of educational and
methodological manuals related to research problems); scientific works of students
and postgraduates who seek to research this topic.
