    MIL-STD-1783(USAF), dated 30 November 1984, is hereby cancelled. However, the technical information
    and the lessons learned from the standard have been preserved in MIL-HDBK-1783.
    MIL-HDBK-1783 is for guidance only and should not be cited as a requirement, but information in the
    handbook may be useful to determine or evaluate requirements.
