have to prepare them.

2.3 Installation Conditions

The project supervis or shall:

 check the construction conditions;
 fill out the Installation Environment Check list;
 sign the Kick off Agreement with the customer if all conditions are ready;
 formulat e the Project Installation Plan.

If the installation is not prepared as required, fill out the Onsite Work Liaison Form to
declare the reason for kickoff postpone.

If the customer needs immediate kickoff, require the time when the installation will be
prepared.

2.3.1 Environment Conditions of the Equipment Room

Check the following items according to the design requirements:

 Check whether the room illumination meets the requirements for equipment
maintenance, and whether the daily lighting, standby lighting and emergency
lighting systems are completely available.
 Check whether the water supply and drainage system meets the requirements
for normal water supply and fire fighting.
 Check whether the air-conditioning and ventilation system is capable of
maintaining proper temperature and humidity conditions in the room.
 Check whether effective anti-static measures have been taken.
 Check whether adequate fire-fighting equipment is available in the equipment
room.
 Check whether the design of the equipment room meets the
earthquake-proof/anti-shock requirements. The floor in the equipment room
should be firm enough for fixing racks securely.
 Check whether the lightning protection meas ures have been tak en in the
equipment room.

2.3.2 Power Supply Conditions of the Equipment Room

Check the following it ems according to t he requirements on the equipment room

design.
 Check whether the AC power supply facilities are complete, and whether the
power meets the requirements. Besides the mains lead-in, the standby power
supply should be available.
 Check whether the DC power distribution equipment meets the system
requirements, and whether the power voltage is stable and the voltage output is
within the stipulated range.
 Check whether the battery has a sufficient capacity. When a power system
accident occurs, ensure that the equipment can be in normal operation for a
specified period of time.
 Check whether the AC power distribution system has an independent AC safety
ground.

2.3.3 Grounding Conditions

Excellent grounding is fundamental for the stable operation of the equipment. It is also
the prerequisite for the access network to withstand lightning strikes and interferences.

Check carefully the grounding conditions of the installation site, and make sure the
equipment is well grounded.

2.3.4 Workbench

Following are the rules that you should observe when installing the equipment:
 Leave enough space at the air intake vents and air exhausting vents to ensure
adequate ventilation of the equipment chassis.
 Make sure that the workbench has a good ventilation system.
 Make sure that the workbench is stable enough and can support the weight of
the equipment and the installation accessories.
 Make sure that the workbench has been well-grounded.

2.3.5 Auxiliary Equipment

Before equipment installation, if associated transmission equipment is provided,

check whether it has been installed completely in compliance wit h the follows :
 Whether the installation and debugging for the optical transceiver are finished.
 Whether optical fibers are well de ployed.
 Whether the fiber tails from the connection box are well labeled.
 Whether optical fibers pass the acceptance.
 Whether the trunk cable’s impedance matches the trunk cable.
 Whether the cabling frame and cable distribution frame are installed.

2.3.6 Other Facilities

Check whether computer desks, chairs, power sockets, and a telephone for external
communication are provided in the network management system room. These are
necessary facilities for project installation. All items that may be used should be taken
into consideration according to the site situation.

2.4 Unpacking

2.4.1 Unpacking Requirements

After the project begins, the project supervisor should check the products together
with the customer.

Check the following points.

 Whether the total number of products is consistent with the packing list attached
to the packing case.
 Whether the arrival place is the installation site.

 Whether the packing case is good condition.

 Whether the cabinet is placed upside down.

If the outer package is damaged or soaked; or the equipment is soaked and becomes
rusty, stop unpacking and find the cause. Feed back the situation to the local Huawei
representative office.

 Note:

To protect the equipment and find out the cause, move the unpacked equipment
indoor for proper storage, and take a photo for the storage site, the rusty or corroded
equipment, packing cases, packaging materials. Keep these phot os and store the
unpacked packing cases and packaging materials.

If the out er package is in good condition, follow the procedure below to unpack and
check the equipment.
1) Unpack the case labeled "contains Pack ing List”, and take out the Pack ing List.
Check the case according to the Pack ing List.
2) If shortage and miscarriage occur, fill in the Cargo Shortage and Miscarriage
Report.
3) If cargo damage occurs, fill in the Cargo Replacement Application Form.
4) Sign the Pack ing List together with the customer.

Warning:

In transporting and moving equipment, components or parts, avoid their colliding with
doors, walls or shelves.
Never touch the uncoated surface of equipment, parts or components with sweat
soaked or dirty gloves.

Warning:

Do not put the wooden c ase upside down. Otherwise, the equipment will suffer severe
damages.

To unpack a case, follow the procedure below.

Cart ons are usually used to pack cables, circuit boards and terminal devices. During
transportation, these circuit boards are usually put in anti-static bags. When
unpacking the circuit boards, you need to take anti-static measures to avoid any
damage to these boards.

Meanwhile, pay attention to the temperature and humidity of the environment. To

keep the anti-static bag dry, you need to put desiccant in the bags so that it can
absorb moisture in the bags. After t rans porting the equipment to a place with high er
temperature and humidity, do not unpack it immediately until 30 minutes later.
Otherwise, moisture will condense on the surface of the equipment, causing damage
to it.

To open a carton, do as follows.

1) Check the types and quantity of boards inside the c art on according to labels.
2) Cut the straps using diagonal pliers.
3) Cut the tapes along the seams of the carton cover using a knife. To avoid
damaging equipment inside, do not apply too much force.
4) Open the carton and take out the foam materials.
5) View the labels of boards, and check whether the number of boards is consistent
with what is specified on the label of the carton. Then, take out the boards.
6) Check the number and type of boards against the Pack ing List, and then accept
them.

Never throw away the carton with articles not taken out. It is recommended t hat one
person be in charge of a carton solely and check the pres ent carton before he
unpackes the next one. The carton shall be confirmed to be empty before it is thrown
away.

The following table lists the parts and accessories that are essential t o make an
SE2200 function.

2.5 Safety Recommendations

When reading this manual, you should pay adequate attention to the following symbol
and the contents beneath it.

incorrectly, might harm you or damage the equipment.

 Keep the equipment far away from the heat sourc es and water/liquid.
 Make sure that the equipment has been correctly grounded.
 Wear ESD-preventive wrist strap during installation and maintenance, make
sure that the strap has good skin-cont act.
 Do not hot swap the main cont rol units of the equipment.
 Do not plug/unplug cables if there is electricity.
 Connect the cables to the ports appropriate to them.
 Use Uninterrupted Power Supply.
