JOB ANALYSIS: -

Job analysis involves systematically gathering comprehensive


information about a particular job, encompassing various
aspects such as skill requirements, roles, responsibilities, and
procedures, to create an accurate job description. It also
provides insights into the physical, emotional, and other human
attributes necessary for the effective execution of the job. By
conducting a thorough job analysis, organizations can develop a
deeper understanding of the job's intricacies and establish clear
expectations for potential candidates or current employees.
JOB DESCRIPTION: -
A job description comprises essential job-related details aimed
at effectively promoting a specific job and enticing a diverse
range of potential candidates. It encompasses key information,
including the job title, location, reporting structure, job
summary, the nature and objectives of the role, tasks and
responsibilities, working conditions, required machinery, tools,
and equipment, as well as potential hazards associated with the
job.
JOB SPECIFICATION: -
A job specification is an official document that outlines the
duties, required knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as the
minimum qualifications for state jobs. It provides a detailed
description of the specific responsibilities and tasks associated
with the position, giving a clear understanding of the job.

(Assistant Sales Manager)

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the most important responsibilities of the
Assistant Sales Manager would be: -

1) SOFT SKILLS: - Soft skills are essential for an Assistant


Sales Manager in clothing brands as they enable effective
communication, exceptional customer service, and
relationship building. These skills also contribute to
problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and adaptability in a
fast-paced and evolving industry. Strong soft skills help
create positive customer experiences, drive sales, and
foster a collaborative work environment

2) LEADERSHIP: - As an Assistant Sales Manager in a


clothing brand, you will provide guidance and support to
the sales team, motivating them to achieve individual and
team sales goals. Conducting training sessions for new
sales staff will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring
their successful onboarding. Regular performance
evaluations will be conducted, allowing you to provide
feedback and identify areas for improvement. Your role
will be pivotal in driving sales success and maintaining a
high-performing sales team.

3) MANAGEMENT OF THE WORKFORCE: - The


responsibilities will include assisting in the recruitment,
education, and onboarding process of new sales team
members. You will distribute roles and responsibilities

feedback will be part of your duties. Additionally, you will

4) OVERSEEING THE SALE CHANNELS: - The assistant


sales manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the sales
pipeline and monitoring sales performance. This involves

closed deals. Collaborating with the sales representatives,
the assistant sales manager identifies and secures new
business opportunities.

5) IDEATING NEW WAYS TO BOOST SALES: - They

personnels in order give their inputs and come up with

The qualification requirements of the Assistant Manager
are subjective to different companies and their scale of
operations. These are the few basic qualifications: -

1)EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: - A bachelor’s


degree in the field of marketing, business administration
or any other relative field is mostly preferred.
Certification courses on up and forthcoming topics like
team management and leadership also puts the
applicant in an advantageous position. Some large scale
also prefers applicants who have pursued MBA in their
post-graduation.

2) WORK EXPERIENCE: - Proven experience in the field


of sales and customer service is always appreciated as it
helps them to develop the ability to work in this fast-
paced environment. it provides in-depth product
knowledge, customer understanding, and expertise in
sales techniques. With experience, they develop strong
problem-solving skills, enabling them to handle various
customer situations and challenges effectively.

1) Strong communication and interpersonal skills:


Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal
skills is essential for an Assistant Sales Manager to
effectively engage with customers, understand their
needs, and build relationships.
2) Effective product communication: The ability to

OBSERVATIONS

I went to the outlet of Peter England to conduct the


survey and some the key things I observed about the
Assistant Sales Manager executing his day-to-day tasks
are: -
1) Assisted me in acquiring a comprehensive comprehension
of the profession, encompassing the duties,
commitments, and duties that need to be fulfilled during
work.

2) Effective communication and persuasive abilities are


essential qualities for an individual to excel as a sales
manager. Additionally, they should possess strong
mentoring skills to guide and support their subordinates.

3) The assistant sales manager was engaged in coordinating


and supporting the sales team. He was overseeing the
team’s activities, and ensuring that everyone is aligned
with the overall sales strategies and goals.

4) The assistant sales manager was skilled in various tools


and software. He was proficient in using Microsoft office
applications. He was also aware of the current market
conditions and trends.
INFLUENCES
This survey provided me with valuable practical knowledge
about various aspects of the job and the operations of a
clothing store. I learned that a successful sales career
demands strong interpersonal and communication skills,
the ability to handle customers with patience, and the
capability to oversee the sales team's work. Moreover, I
observed the vital role of an assistant sales manager in
supporting the sales manager, assisting the sales team,
and ensuring the smooth functioning of the sales
department and the clothing store.

The observation also allowed for an assessment of his


knowledge, skills, and natural abilities, as well as his ability
to handle unexpected situations and interact with clients
in a pleasant and convincing manner.
