The two scatter plots describe the relationship between income and expenditure in Bac Ninh in

2016 and 2018. (The chart has filtered out some too large numbers).
Overall, based on the data of r2 and the linear trend, it is evident that earnings and spending in
Bac Ninh had a positive and strong correlation. However, the level of it also had changes during
2 years.
In 2016, the scatter plot has a “line of best fit” moved from left to right, representing the positive
correlation between two variables. Meanwhile, with the r2=0.302, the correlation coefficient can
be indicated to be approximately equal to r=0.55. Standing at 0.55, it indicated that two variables
had a strong tightness (cause 0.5<r<1). An increase in income leads to an increase in spending
and vice versa.
After that, the figure for 2 years later, the connection between two variables recorded more
stability than in the past. The scale of both income and expenditure considerately increased
throughout 2 years, be approximately double that of 2016. The trend line also experienced the
same positive correlation between spending and earnings as in 2016. But in 2018, the r2 is higher
than the previous year, which made the relationship between the 2 variables stronger. With
r=0.59, the money which people in Bac Ninh spent is more and more tightly related to the money
they had earned.
